🏕 Wat Thammaphirataram was built around 1757. Originally named Wat Song Phi Nong, it is believed that two siblings built this temple together. Later, it was renamed Wat Si Yaek because it was located at the intersection of Khlong Bang Sue and Khlong Prem Prachakorn. During the reign of King Rama V, he saw a bridge crossing the canal and remarked that the temple had a high bridge as a landmark, so it should be named Wat Saphan Sung. In 1939, it was renamed Wat Thammaphirataram. The important and interesting features within the temple are as follows: 🏠 The Ubosot (ordination hall) features late Ayutthaya period art. It is a Maha-Ut style ordination hall with brick and plaster door arches and a Chinese-style roof. Inside, the principal Buddha image, Luang Pho Sukhothai, is enshrined.
