Shaanxi

Binzhou City. Kaiyuan Temple Pagoda. The tower was built in the fifth year of Huangyou in the Northern Song Dynasty (1053). It is an octagonal, seven-story pavilion-style brick tower with each side of the bottom floor 5.6 meters long and a total height of 47.84 meters. It has a single hollow wall. There are two arch doors in the north and south on the ground floor, and four arch doors on each floor above the second floor, which are staggered from floor to floor. Each floor has three rooms in imitation wooden structure, and each floor has stepped eaves. The top of the tower is a brick-built spire with an iron pagoda top.
