It is assumed that the first pillar (the leaning pillar) is the city pillar that was established when the city of Pae was established in the Thonburi period. The second pillar, the pillar at the back, was likely established when the city of Pae was elevated to Buriram or Buriram Province and was built close together. ✨ It is believed that this area was once a resting point for King Rama I and is also the birthplace of Buriram. Therefore, this place is considered a sacred place of the city that is respected and worshipped and is an important spiritual support for the people of Buriram. Originally, this place was just a small shrine. In 2005, a new City Pillar Shrine was built and the sacred objects were invited. Phra Suea Mueang, Theparak, and Phra Song Mueang to protect and preserve the city, so that people can live peacefully and happily. Beside the City Pillar Shrine, there is also a Chinese shrine with a statue of the City Pillar God. On the left is the God of Wealth, Chai Xing Yea, and on the right is the God of Guan Yu, so that Thais of Chinese descent can come and pay homage in the same area.
