Leng Hok Yi Shrine

An old and large Chinese Mahayana temple It is the only Chinese temple in Chachoengsao Province. It is an extension of Wat Mangkon Kamalawat (Wat Leng Noei Yi). It was built in the late reign of King Rama V. It was given the name Wat Chinese Prachasamosorn (Wat Leng Hok Yi). It is located on Suphakit Road, opposite the 100-year-old Ban Mai Market. You can park at the market and walk across. There is not much parking space in the temple. You may have to park behind the temple. When you enter the temple, there is a large incense pot to light and worship the sky before entering the ordination hall. At the entrance, there are two statues of the Four Great Kings, two on each side. In the center is the seated Phra Sri Ariya Maitreya Bodhisattva (similar to Phra Sangkachai). There are three principal Buddha images: Phra Bhaiṣajyaguru Buddha, Phra Sakanamuni Buddha, and Phra Amitabha Buddha (in order from left to right). Opposite Phra Wet Dharma Bodhisattva (Ui Tho), who is responsible for preserving the religion. On the left is the dragon-shaped Guan Yin, carved from ancient wood. In the room on the right is the Bodhisattva in the Maharaj posture. Behind is the Mara-Vijaya posture, a white jade Buddha, and several ancient Buddhas. Behind the chapel is a large seven-story Chinese pagoda. On Chinese New Year, I went to worship at 9 temples in the Chom Thong area. Today is still the Chinese New Year. I came to worship in Chachoengsao, starting from Suwannaram Temple, stopping by the Eight Immortals Shrine, before going to the Chinese Temple of Prachasamosorn, and then going on to Wat Thepnimit. It can be said that the Chinese Temple of Prachasamosorn, or Wat Leng Hok Yi, is one of the most important temples in Chachoengsao. It is believed that this temple is one of the three temples that make up the dragon. The dragon's head is at Wat Leng Noei Yi in Bangkok, the dragon's tail is at Wat Leng Hua Yi in Chanthaburi Province, and the dragon's belly is at Wat Leng Hok Yi here. This temple was built during the reign of King Rama V in 1906 when he visited Prachin Buri Province to open the Bangkok-Chachoengsao railway line, and was given the name "Wat Chin Prachasomsorn" Inside the temple, there are interesting things such as 4 large statues of the Four Guardian Deities made of paper at the entrance, 3 principal Buddha statues and 18 Arhats made of paper imported from China, a statue of the God of Fortune (Cai Seng Ye) on the right side of the principal Buddha statue, and many other gods. According to Chinese beliefs, there is a large bell weighing more than 1 ton, which is 1 of 3 in the world that has the Maha Prajna Paramitra Sutta around the bell. It is believed that whoever hits the bell is like chanting a prayer and gains merit. There are also other sacred temples such as the Buraphachan Temple, the Guan Yin Temple, carved from the roots of a 100-year-old tree, the Di Zang Wong Temple, the Heavenly Pond and the Dragon King. How to worship the Dragon King? Rub the dragon's head down 3 times and pray for wisdom and career. Rub the dragon's body up along the dragon's scales 3 times and pray for health. Rub the dragon's tail up along the dragon's scales 3 times and pray for the future. Never touch or hold the dragon's beard, because the Chinese believe that the dragon will lose its power and will not get what you wish for. #ChachoengsaoTravel #MueTravel #GayCooking 📍Address: 291 Suphakit Road, Mueang Chachoengsao, Chachoengsao
