In Chengdu... an affordable city center hotel that I will always stay at! !

An in-depth review of the first Renaissance Hotel in Chengdu, confirming it is a cost-effective choice! I recently experienced the first Renaissance Hotel in Chengdu. It was formerly the first Regal Hotel in Chengdu which opened in January 2010. It completed a gorgeous transformation after joining hands with Marriott in 2014. This stay gave me a comprehensive understanding of it. 💰️Per capita consumption: The hotel has a very high cost-effectiveness ratio, and the price on weekends is often less than 400 yuan. 🏘️️️Room type/layout: The hotel has a total of 346 guest rooms. The premium open-plan suites are 63 square meters in size and are semi-circular corner rooms facing south on each floor. Members can upgrade for free on a first-come, first-served basis. I made a last-minute reservation on the weekend, and all the available suites were sold out that day. In the end, I was upgraded to a 53-square-meter executive king room. The executive rooms here have at least 3 different interior layouts. Although some rooms do not have bathtubs, the overall space layout is reasonable and it is still very comfortable to live in. 🛌Supplies/Facilities: The hotel's executive lounge is on the 29th floor and, like the first Marriott, offers breakfast, afternoon tea and happy hour services throughout the day. The Chinese tea break for afternoon tea includes scallion oil crisps, Nantai Yue rice crisps in various flavors, as well as fruits, dried fruits, chocolate, etc. The dishes during happy hour are also good, including honey-grilled pork neck with four different sauces and Sichuan-style twice-cooked pork, which are very tasty. The wellness center is on the 5th floor and includes a gym, indoor heated swimming pool and spa. Although the swimming pool was closed for maintenance when we checked in and we were unable to visit it, the gym is small and has limited fitness equipment, but it can still meet basic fitness needs. The circular canopy in the hotel's drop-off area is uniquely shaped, like a mysterious flying saucer, and the red racing car model hanging on the background wall of the lobby concierge desk adds a unique feature. Although the hotel has not been renovated since its opening, and the lobby and guest rooms are a little dated, they are still well maintained and have a unique charm. 🧹Sound insulation/sanitation: The sound insulation is good and you can rest quietly in the room. The sanitation conditions are also satisfactory, and the rooms and public areas are cleaned very well. 💗Other tips: Although the hotel's appearance has little to do with racing elements, this unique design is still eye-catching. If you want to upgrade to a suite when booking, try to plan ahead to avoid missing out like I did due to last-minute booking. Summary: Although the first Renaissance Hotel in Chengdu may not be as new as the newly opened Renaissance in terms of facilities, it is still a high-quality choice for accommodation in Chengdu with its super high cost-effectiveness, rich lounge dining, reasonable room layout, and good hygiene and sound insulation conditions, especially for those who need to maintain their status.
