Umong Temple, Suan Phuttadham

Wat Umong is an important ancient site that has been in Chiang Mai for over 700 years. It is located on Suthep Road, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province. It was built during the reign of King Mangrai around 1839, which is over 700 years ago. Later, King Kuena built a tunnel here for Phra Mahathera Chan to use as a place for meditation. The inner wall therefore has many passages, and there are also old mural paintings inside the tunnel.
