Wat Inthakhil Sadue Mueang or Wat Sadue Mueang is an ancient temple located near the Chiang Mai City Arts and Culture Hall (Old City Hall) and the Three Kings Monument. According to history, this temple was originally an abandoned temple and used to be the location of the Inthakhil Pillar (City Pillar) of Chiang Mai. Therefore, the temple was named Wat Inthakhil Sadue Mueang. However, at present, the original Inthakhil Pillar is no longer inside Wat Inthakhil because it has been moved to Wat Chedi Luang instead. This temple has an important Buddha image that has been a part of Chiang Mai for a long time, which is known as Luang Pho Khao, which is over 700 years old. It is a Lanna-style Buddha image with a full face and is located inside a Lanna-style chapel made entirely of wood. Anyone passing this way will clearly see the temple in the middle of the road.
