Chiang Mai Art Gallery - Traces of the ancient Lanna city

Chiang Mai City Arts & Cultural Center is located near Wat Phra Singh Woramahawihan on Phra Pok Klao Road, Tambon Si Phum, Amphoe Mueang. This area used to be the navel of the city during the reign of Phraya Mangrai. It is where the Inthakhil or City Pillar was located before it was moved to Wat Chedi Luang. Inside the Chiang Mai City Arts & Cultural Center, there are exhibitions about the history of Chiang Mai and local lifestyles and cultures since prehistoric times. There are more than 15 permanent exhibition rooms in total, starting from prehistoric stories, the era of building houses and cities, to the current Chiang Mai city, the governance system, the way of life, wisdom, and culture of Chiang Mai people. The exhibitions are presented through modern media, such as slides, videos, computer programs, models, graphic boards, and there is also a building at the back that has rotating exhibition rooms and a zone for organizing various activities.
