Vast golden sands echo freedom—Kubuqi Desert

The sound of camel bells will never fade, with camel caravans, golden silhouettes, and the extraordinary sands of the desert. Kubuqi Desert is located in Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, situated on the southern edge of the middle reaches of the Yellow River. It is surrounded by the horse-shaped Yellow River on the east, west, and north, and stretches east to west like a taut string. The desert spans across Hangjin Banner, Dalad Banner, and Jungar Banner, lying between 107°00'–111°30' E longitude and 39°15'–40°45' N latitude. The sand belt is approximately 400 kilometers long from east to west, with a width of 15–20 kilometers in the east and 50 kilometers in the west, covering an area of about 18,630 square kilometers. Kubuqi Desert is China's seventh-largest desert and the closest desert to the capital city. 🚴【Routes】: Kubuqi Desert offers three routes: the east line, west line, and full line. The west line, known as the Seven Star Lake heavy-load trek, is located south of Urad Front Banner and is farther from urban areas. The full line trek takes seven days, with high landscape similarity and significant difficulty. The east line, however, is closer to urban areas. From Baotou Station, you can take a taxi to the east line starting point for less than 300 yuan. The endpoint is the Resonant Sand Bay Scenic Area, which is convenient for returning.
