A Trip to Xiaogang Village

On the way back, we passed by Xiaogang Village, the first village of reform and innovation, and decided to visit. First, we visited the Memorial Hall of Comrade Shen Hao, the village's first secretary. The tour guide said that without Secretary Shen, there would be no Xiaogang as it is today. It was he who broke the Xiaogang dilemma of "crossing the poverty line overnight, but not entering the door of prosperity for twenty years." During his six years in Xiaogang, he devoted himself wholeheartedly to his work and accomplished many great and practical things for the village. The villagers pressed their red handprints three times to keep him, but unfortunately, Secretary Shen died young at the age of 45 due to overwork. After returning, I specifically watched the TV series "Forever Loyalty," which reflects his deeds, and I was moved to tears more than ten times. It was truly touching; he was indeed a good secretary. After visiting the Memorial Hall of Comrade Shen Hao, we went to the thatched cottage where the villagers pressed their red handprints and visited some of the old sites in Xiaogang Village, experiencing the historical changes in the village's development.
