♨️ Soothing Luxury in Iizaka – A Rejuvenating Soak at Hanamomo no Yu

Hanamomo no Yu is easily one of the better public onsens I’ve experienced in Japan. Located in Iizaka Onsen town, the whole place gave off a relaxing and refined vibe right from the start. Even before stepping in, the exterior décor was beautiful and inviting, setting the tone for what turned out to be a great soak. The onsen itself was immaculately clean and well-kept, which is always a huge plus. I noticed a faint sulphuric scent in the air—subtle, but enough to suggest that the water had sulphur properties, known to be great for the skin and circulation. That added a nice touch of authenticity to the overall experience. There’s both an indoor and outdoor bath, and I made sure to try both. The indoor bath was serene and steamy, while the outdoor rotenburo felt amazing with the cool air contrasting the warm water. Surrounded by natural elements and the sound of flowing water, it was truly peaceful and rejuvenating.
