🍔 A Taste of Home – Breakfast at McDonald’s Fukushima

Our family has always loved McDonald’s breakfast in Singapore, so during our stay in Fukushima, we were curious to see how the Japanese version compared. We headed over to the Iriecho branch, which was easy to get to and had plenty of parking right outside—a huge plus for those driving. The outlet wasn’t crowded when we visited, so we had a peaceful, relaxing breakfast. We ordered our usual favourites: hotcakes, sausage muffins, and the big breakfast set. The best part? The taste was nearly identical to what we get back home, which was honestly a pleasant surprise—it felt like a familiar morning ritual, just in a different country. What made this branch stand out, though, was learning that they proudly source some of their ingredients from local farmers. That little detail gave the whole meal an added layer of appreciation. Knowing that our breakfast was supporting the local agricultural community made the experience feel even more wholesome and connected to the region.
