From urban vibrancy to a Song Dynasty-inspired retreat within ancient city walls

On the third day, we checked into Huazhu Jingyuan, a hidden gem nestled within Jingdezhen's ancient city walls—a Jiangnan-style garden homestay that brings Song Dynasty aesthetics to life. 🌿 This hotel is incredibly photogenic! With winding stone paths, black-tiled roofs, and a bamboo-filled courtyard, you can sit by the tea pavilion watching the play of light and shadow. Every ceramic corner and carved wooden window frame is perfect for photos, exuding Eastern poetry. 🏨 Our loft room offered views of the ancient street’s weathered charm. Lying on the tatami, we watched the sky change colors, and the bedding was so comfortable we slept soundly. 🧳 Day 3 itinerary: Sanbao Village & pottery activities 📍 Sanbao Village → Shiwaitaoyuan Restaurant → Jielu Afternoon Tea → Hotel Pottery Class 🚐 We bought Jingdezhen sightseeing bus tickets early—unlimited rides with hop-on, hop-off convenience! We explored Sanbao Village, filled with pottery workshops, designer courtyards, and ceramic galleries. The winding streets were delightful to wander. 🍲 Lunch at a rustic farmhouse at the village’s end was delicious—authentic flavors, affordable, and full of wok hei (breath of the wok)! 🎨 In the afternoon, we enjoyed tea at Jielu Hotel, a picturesque spot, then returned for a pottery class. The instructor guided us through shaping and trimming clay. Though clumsy at first, touching the clay was therapeutic, and witnessing mud transform into art felt magical. 🌇 Dinner and relaxation at the hotel wrapped up the day.
