Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport is one of the airports I have flown from the most. This 4F-class civil international airport is one of the three major gateway hub airports in China and one of the top 50 major airports in the world. Baiyun Airport has a long history, and its predecessor was the old Baiyun Airport built in 1932. As one of the important international aviation hubs of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Air Silk Road, and one of the core hub airports in the Greater Bay Area, Baiyun Airport currently has two terminals and three runways, with more than 80 airlines operating regularly, connecting nearly 100 international and regional destinations, and a route network covering more than 230 destinations worldwide. From 2020 to 2023, Baiyun Airport's annual passenger throughput has ranked first in the country for four consecutive years. From my personal experience, Baiyun Airport is also the busiest airport I have ever been to. Whether arriving late at night or leaving early in the morning, the airport is always crowded with people. It is rare to see so many passengers at these two times at other airports in China. As the airport with the largest passenger throughput in China, Baiyun Airport's passenger services, airport transportation, airport facilities, and commercial and leisure facilities are also very complete. However, because there are so many passengers, it is recommended to arrive at the airport at least two hours in advance to check in, especially for low-cost airlines, as the queues for check-in and security may be very long. In addition, the weather in Lingnan in spring and summer is really very unstable, so I have experienced delays and cancellations at Guangzhou Airport many times due to weather reasons, but this is not the airport's fault, just be prepared.
