Spend the weekend at Guihai Qinglan, and enjoy a vacation right at your doorstep

Every weekend, we often rush to distant places, overlooking the fact that the perfect getaway might be right outside our door. This weekend, with no travel plans and unsure where to go, my best friend suggested visiting Guihai Qinglan to see the black swans. Just before heading out, we discovered that staying at the hotel waived the entrance fee. Embracing the "since we're already here" mindset, we decided to book a room and stay overnight. It unlocked a brand-new life experience for me—"staycation"! For Guilin, this hotel’s amenities are quite comprehensive. Of course, it can’t compare to those luxury resorts costing thousands, but it offers great value for money. It has everything a standard hotel would, plus extras most hotels don’t. After checking in, I added the hotel butler 🤵 on WeChat, who then recommended activities to me. Here, you can enjoy jet skiing 🚤, off-road mountain vehicles 🏎, horseback riding 🐎, and even feed adorable little animals (paid activities). Surprisingly, fishing 🎣 is also available (free activity). While buying drinks at the off-road vehicle site, we got some exciting news—the owner mentioned the scenic area is planning to open a lure fishing base, with proposals currently under discussion. It’s bound to be even more fun in the future! The hotel offers free shuttle service to the Guihai Qinglan scenic area. All the camping gear and skateboards I had in my trunk came in handy here. The hotel even provides free bicycles, though we didn’t ride them due to the scorching sun 🚲. The environment is absolutely breathtaking—it truly feels like the mountains and waters embrace you. My last visit to Guihai Qinglan was during the Strawberry Music Festival, and the heavy rain that day left me utterly disappointed. This time, I came prepared mentally, and the stay turned out to be incredibly comforting—perfect for quietly unwinding alone. The king bed room we booked was quite unique. While the overall space was spacious, much of it was allocated to a large balcony and bathroom, leaving the actual bedroom area more compact. It was sufficient for me, but if you prioritize room size, other room types offer more spacious options. Two days and one night, with so many value-added services, the room rate of just three to four hundred yuan was totally worth it. If any out-of-town friends plan to visit Guilin this summer, I highly recommend reserving one night for Guihai Qinglan.
