|Records the story of "The Orphan of Zhao." Jiulang Temple was first built in the first year of the Zhida era of the Yuan dynasty (1308) to commemorate Zhao Shi, Gongsun Ri, and Cheng Ying of the Spring and Autumn period. The temple enshrines Zhao Wu (Zhao Wenzi), Cheng Ying, and Gongsun Chujiu, symbolizing the story of the Orphan of Zhao. Hancheng is the setting of the story of the Orphan of Zhao, so Jiulang Temple is not only a witness to history but also a place where this legendary story is passed down.
Jiulang Temple has a unique architectural style, with five rooms, a total length of 16 meters, and a depth of 9 meters, using a single-eave hip roof and glass tiles. Although the decoration on the roof ridge (chiwen) has been reduced, this does not affect its value as a historical site. The main hall has exquisite paintings, showing the architectural art of the Yuan dynasty. In addition, Jiulang Temple also preserves the relics of the hiding place of Cheng Ying and Gongsun Chujiu, such as Jiulang Valley and the Orphan Hiding Cave, further enriching its cultural connotation.
