Bandiwat Book Cafe

Bandiwat, one of Jeju's book cafes, is located in Cheongsu-ri, Hangyeong-myeon, Jeju City, about a 50-minute drive from Jeju Airport. The cafe operates from 11 AM to 5 PM every day except Wednesdays. The entrance to the cafe and the area with hackberry trees have a free parking lot at the back, making it convenient for visitors. The cafe offers a variety of drinks such as coffee, ade, smoothies, handmade teas, and herbal teas. Notable options include mulberry tea introduced by singer IU, as well as citrus tea, green tangerine tea, and omija tea. For desserts, you can enjoy ice cream injeolmi (mugwort injeolmi), cheese pound cake, walnut pie, and yogurt. I ordered walnut pie to pair with the warm mulberry tea. While waiting for the menu items, I explored the cafe's interior and bookshelves, which featured everything from new releases to world literature collections. You can sit at a table and read books, making it a perfect spot for relaxation. In addition to various genres of books, the cafe also had coloring books and the popular bestseller "One Page a Day: A Transcription Notebook for Building My Vocabulary." Notebooks and pens were provided, allowing visitors to enjoy coloring or transcription activities. During my mulberry tea experience, the cafe owner kindly offered complimentary tangerine jeonggwa (candied tangerine). The sweet, tangy, and moist texture of the traditional Korean confection was delightful. Surrounded by countless books and accompanied by soothing music, this is an ideal place to spend time. Whether traveling alone, with family, or friends, Bandiwat Book Cafe is a wonderful destination.
