Li's Ancient House

#2月好地方2025 [Li's Historic House] Completed in 1931, it was built by Mr. Li Rong and is a designated historic site in Kaohsiung City. At that time, Mr. Li Rong's eldest son Li Wencan hired craftsmen to build it in order to marry Chen Huoyue, the eldest daughter of Chen Qizhen, a local official in Takao. After the completion of the Western-style mansion, it became one of the two most unique Western-style buildings in the south and north of Kaohsiung during the Japanese colonial period, along with the famous Chen Zhonghe Western-style Mansion (the craftsman was Zhang Cheng, who was also from Neiwei). In fact, the Western-style building once faced the fate of demolition. In early 1999, the left side of the building was facing demolition, but fortunately it was announced as a historical site on May 25 of the same year and was preserved.
