Wat Chamdevi, also known as Wat Ku Kut

It is an ancient temple with historical and artistic significance. It was built in the Hariphunchai period around the 17th Buddhist century. Location: Chamadevi Road, Tambon Nai Mueang, Amphoe Mueang Lamphun, Lamphun Province Opening and closing hours: Generally open for visits every day from 08:00 to 17:00 (please check the latest opening hours again). The unique architecture of "Ku Kut", a rectangular stupa in the style of Bodh Gaya in India. This stupa's full name is "Maha Chedi Suwanna Jangkot Chedi". Inside, it contains the relics of the Lord Buddha. According to legend, it is the place where the body of Queen Chamadevi, the first ruler of the Hariphunchai Kingdom, is enshrined. Around each level of the stupa, there are 60 standing Buddha images enshrined in niches. The temple grounds are quiet, shady, and clean. It is a suitable place for making merit, worshiping Buddha, and studying the history and art of ancient Lanna. There is a spacious parking lot and basic facilities.
