Beautiful temple in the border town

Wat Thai Watthanaram, Burmese-style Thai temple Wat Thai Watthanaram, a Thai Yai temple, is about 5 kilometers from Mae Sot District. It is a very beautiful Thai Yai temple. It was built in 1857 by Mr. Mung, a Burmese man from Shan State who immigrated with his family to live in Mae Sot District and was the first village headman of Mae Tao Village. He was later given the name Muen At Khamhaenghan. In 1957, the temple was declared a Buddhist temple under the Department of Religious Affairs.
