Sala Loi Temple

Wat Sala Loi, Nakhon Ratchasima Province 🙏This is an ancient temple with historical and religious significance. It is located in the city of Nakhon Ratchasima. It was built by Thao Suranari and her husband, Phraya Suriyadet. After Thao Suranari finished the war at Thung Samrit, she ordered her soldiers to make a raft in the shape of a fortune-telling pavilion and float it down Lam Takong. She made a wish that if the raft floated and got stuck somewhere, she would build a temple as a memorial. The raft floated and got stuck on the right bank of Lam Takong, which was an abandoned temple. Therefore, a chapel was built, which is now Wat Sala Loi. 🌿The new chapel is in the shape of a junk and decorated with Dan Kaewian terracotta tiles. The old chapel has a statue of Phraya Suriyadet.
