Suan Tan Temple

“Wat Suan Tan” is considered one of the oldest temples in Nan Province. It is a beautiful and peaceful temple that was built over 600 years ago during the reign of “Phra Nang Pathummawadi”, the wife of “Phra Phu Keng”, the ruler of Nan, around the year 1955. This temple is home to the famous “Phra Chao Thong Thip”, a bronze Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya posture, 10 feet wide and 14 feet 4 inches high. It was built in 1993 and is highly revered and worshipped by locals and tourists. It is believed that if anyone comes to pray and ask for something, their wish will come true.
