A must-stay hotel in Nanjing!!!

Shop Visit 13 | Sheraton Nanjing Xinjiekou, truly worth staying at! On my first day in Nanjing, I decided to switch from the Jinling Hotel to the Sheraton. For reasons, please refer to my previous review of the Jinling Hotel. It turns out, this hotel change was the right decision! 1. Prime Location, Super Convenient Travel 🚗 The hotel is only 1 km from Xinjiekou, making it easy to get anywhere by taxi. From personal experience, it only takes 20 minutes to get to the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge, 15 minutes to Xuanwu Lake, 20 minutes to Qinhuai Pedestrian Street, and 25 minutes to Nanjing South Railway Station. There are plenty of food delivery options nearby, satisfying all your cravings. 2. Unique Ambiance, A Blend of Retro and Modern 🏨 The logo at the hotel entrance exudes a strong sense of history, and the overall check-in area and decor have a distinctly retro charm. The elevators are a highlight, unique among many hotels. You need to enter the desired floor first, then swipe your card to use them. There are five elevators in total, using an automatic allocation system. See the pictures for more details. There are also two scenic elevators with stunning views outside. 3. Comfortable Rooms, Brand New and Thoughtful Amenities 🛏️ Room Type/Layout: Moving from the Jinling Hotel to the Sheraton, my only expectation was a new room with windows that could be opened for ventilation. I arrived at the hotel around noon that day, expecting to check in later and planning to store my luggage and visit the Yangtze River Bridge first. To my surprise, a room was available at noon, and I was even upgraded to a newly renovated room from 2018. Although the room layout is still a bit small due to the renovation, the interior facilities are brand new and excellent. Amenities/Facilities: Equipped with JBL speakers and electric curtains, the bathroom glass is high-tech and can be frosted with one click. The most surprising feature is the Chivas first-class massage chair. A few massages a day melt away fatigue. The toiletries are by Gilchrist & Soames, with a pleasant warm oak scent. Soundproofing/Cleanliness: The soundproofing of the room is excellent, allowing me to enjoy a quiet and comfortable sleep at night. The cleanliness is also impeccable, with the room spotlessly cleaned, making for a particularly reassuring stay. 4. High-Quality Facilities and Attentive Service 💁 I didn't use the pool or gym, but the lounge is located on the 39th floor, offering a wide view and excellent scenery. The overall infrastructure is complete. There's a small library outside the 2nd-floor breakfast area, a hotel &more cafe on the 1st floor, and a convenience store at the back entrance, making everything easily accessible. I borrowed umbrellas from the front desk several afternoons, and the service was always smooth. One time, when the hotel ran out of umbrellas, a staff member even lent me their own, which was very heartwarming! 5. Abundant Dining, Endless Delicious Food 🍽️ Breakfast is on the 2nd floor. There's a queue during peak hours, but it's different from other hotels. The dining area is relatively small, so they use a restaurant-style queuing system, with staff guiding guests to their seats, ensuring everyone has a place to sit. The breakfast selection is extensive, with specialties like duck blood vermicelli soup, Yangchun noodles, various pastries, yogurt, and fresh juices, all very delicious. The executive lounge offers afternoon tea with pastries and cakes, and the happy hour food is filling. Although the variety isn't huge, it's satisfying. See the last few pictures for details. 6. Excellent Value, Highly Recommended 🌟 As a Marriott Platinum member, the Sheraton was my first choice. Initially, I saw some reviews mentioning that the hotel was old and the experience wasn't great, so I chose the Jinling Hotel first. However...after the actual experience, I found that the Sheraton's newly renovated rooms from 2018 are really worth staying in! Excellent value for money and great location. Average Cost Per Person: The price ranges from CNY 600-800/night. It's a great deal for such high-quality service and comfortable accommodation. Other Tips: The hotel has older rooms renovated in 2008. Try to choose the newer rooms renovated in 2018 for a better experience. Overall, this Sheraton Hotel really exceeded expectations.
