Omachi City is located west of Nagano City, the capital of Nagano Prefecture, in the Ookita region of the prefecture. It is bordered by Nagano City to the east, Matsumoto City to the south, Hakuba Village to the north, and Takayama City in Toyama Prefecture to the west.
