Wat Phra Bat Ming Muang: Pay homage to Phra Phuttha Kosai.

🙏 Wat Phra Bat Ming Muang Worawihan, a third-class royal temple, is an important temple in Phrae Province. It was formed by merging two ancient temples, Wat Phra Bat and Wat Ming Muang, in 1949. These two large temples were separated only by an alley. 🏰 In 1879, King Maha Thammaracha Lithai, when he was still the Crown Prince, came to build and renovate religious sites in the Lanna Kingdom, including in Phrae, which was a vassal state of Sukhothai. These sites include Phra That Cho Hae, Phra That Chom Chaeng, Wat Luang Chai Wong, Wat Phra Bat Saeng Fa, and Wat Phra Non Chuthamat. 🏰 Wat Phra Bat was initially named Wat Phra Phuttha Bat, later renamed Wat Phra Bat Saeng Fa, Wat Chai Aram Phra Bat, and finally Wat Phra Bat. 🏡 Wat Ming Muang was built by the ruler of Phrae in his garden and was named Wat Suan Ming or Wat Som Ming or Wat Ming Muang, symbolizing its central location in the city. 🛕 Later, the Dharma Hall and the main viharn of Ming Muang were built. Today, the main viharn has been converted into the Ming Muang Viharn Museum.
