Wat Mahathat Worawihan, Ratchaburi Province 🙏It is an ancient temple of Ratchaburi, built since the reign of King Jayavarman VII, around the 18th Buddhist century, located almost in the center of Ratchaburi, on the west bank of the Mae Klong River. It was originally called "Wat Na Phra That", "Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat". There is a 12-wa-high laterite prang with murals inside. It is a temple that enshrines the relics of the Lord Buddha. 🕍The Royal Vihara is located in front of the prang, enshrining the two Buddha images, known as Luang Pho Mongkhon Buri and Phra Srinakarin, which are large, stucco Buddha images with red sandstone cores and are the same size. Facing east-west along the axis of the vihara. 🛕The prang consists of the main prang and three subsidiary prangs on the same base, all decorated with beautiful stucco patterns. On the east side of the main prang, there are stairs and a projecting portico. Inside, there is a niche connected to the prang. The interior walls of the prang on all sides have murals of the past Buddhas.
