Wat Phra Kaew

This is an important ancient temple because it has a beautiful square chedi. It is said that this chedi is the queen of all chedis in Southeast Asia. It is a tall Lavo chedi mixed with a late Dvaravati chedi. The base of the chedi is a recessed wooden structure. It is a combination of Sukhothai and Srivijaya art. In front of the chedi, there is a Luang Por Chai shrine. Behind Luang Por Chai, there is a carved "lintel". It is an upside-down image, not upside-down like normal lintels.
