A port city for peace lovers

Last week I had the opportunity to work in Sawankhalok. I had never thought about it or wanted to go there before, but surprisingly, I fell in love with this city. Sawankhalok Railway Station, the end of the railway line, an interesting old station. The station is made of old wood and has old architecture. There are pictures of the history of the people involved. I walked around and looked around without getting bored. It's a pity that there was no train when I went. I asked and found out that there was only one train per day. The people here are kind, smiling and welcoming visitors. They explain things very well, as if they want us to know their city better. We stopped to eat rice soup at a famous restaurant in the city called Song Jialuo (the owner said it means Sawankhalok city). We talked about the history of the city. In the past, this place was a port where Chinese junks came to unload goods to be taken by train to sell elsewhere. The city was prosperous and lively. There were a large community of Chinese people. The houses were on land owned by the railway for the laborers to rent. It has been passed down to the present. Many have changed hands, but they are still rented. The houses are in an old style that should be renovated into a tourist attraction (like Sam Chuk Market). The food is delicious. I recommend the pork kou, it's really delicious. The next day at noon, I went to a restaurant by the Yom River. It's a pity that I couldn't see the river view at all because of the flood problem. The government built a dam to prevent flooding until it was over 2 meters high, completely blocking the view. Finally, I would like to invite you to visit Sawankhalok, a peaceful city with lovely people and street art for you to walk and take pictures. Then you will know what the real slow life is.
