This time, I visited Qingxi Ancient Town. Compared to other more famous ancient towns, this one is very low-key. But I really like this tranquility, without too much commercialization. And it hides a very charming One Inch Garden, also known as the Nanyuan branch. Nanyuan was a private garden built by Tao Yuquan, a wealthy man from Songjiang Prefecture in the Yuan Dynasty. Originally named "Yunsuo Garden," it was later destroyed by Japanese pirates. Now rebuilt on Qingxi Old Street, it has become a cultural center of the ancient town. One Inch Garden retains the original Huizhou architectural style of Nanyuan, including pavilions, rockeries, ponds, and winding garden landscapes. While preserving the framework of the old house, it also maintains the standardized design of One Inch Garden. It has both historical charm and comfort, surrounded by lush greenery.
