Shanghai Songjiang New Century Grand Hotel | An Old Ferrari is Still a Ferrari

Located in the heart of Songjiang District, Shanghai Songjiang New Century Grand Hotel is close to the Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park and Songjiang University Town. With convenient transportation and its own large-scale Mediterranean-style New Century Plaza, it is not only favored by many international guests but also frequently chosen by film crews from the Chedundian Film Studio. Entering through the hotel's ramp that separates from the bustling main road, the fountain in front of the lobby not only directs traffic flow but also exudes an air of elegance. The lobby bar serves Austria's national treasure coffee, Julius Meinl, with a 160-year history, while the same floor features a Chinese restaurant specializing in Shanghainese and Zhejiang cuisines. Floors 3 to 5 house chess and billiards rooms as well as a scenic gym, and the 25-meter-long heated pool truly made my swim enjoyable. This stay was in the hotel's Deluxe King Room, offering a view of downtown Songjiang. The bed was equipped with both soft and firm pillows, along with decorative cushions. A book detailing the history and development of Songjiang District was placed by the desk, perfect for reading while seated on the window-side sofa. The bathroom area features a dry-wet separation design, high-quality amenities, neatly arranged towel rolls, and a large mirror beside the freestanding bathtub—all of which I particularly appreciated. The breakfast noodle station offers various toppings, and the hot food section serves local specialties like Songjiang Tiaotou Cake and banana cake. For lunch and dinner, freshly sliced beef hotpot is also available. After breakfast, this midweek staycation came to a perfect close.
