Visit Taipei Botanical Garden

The Taipei Botanical Garden, established during the Japanese colonial period, was an important site for plant research. Covering an area of approximately 8 hectares, it originally housed experimental plants introduced from Japan and Southeast Asia. Today, the garden has expanded significantly, featuring over 2,000 plant species and showcasing a variety of architectural styles and botanical collections. The garden is organized into themed sections based on plant classifications, each equipped with informational signs to introduce unique flora. Highlights include the Lotus Pond, Zodiac Garden, Succulent Plant Area, Fern Area, Poetry Plant Area, Folk Plant Area, and Palm Area. The vegetation changes with the seasons, offering a distinct charm throughout the year. In addition to its rich plant life, the garden also features two historical sites: the Qing Dynasty Guest House (built in 1892 during the Qing rule as a reception hall in Taipei City) and Nanmen Town 323 (originally a tea house from the Japanese colonial period in 1930). 📍Address: No. 53, Nanhai Road, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City, 100 🕰️Opening Hours: 05:30–20:00
