Hue Tourism: A mausoleum lavishly decorated with mosaic pottery

The Khai Dinh Tomb is about 10km from Hue city. It was built by the 12th emperor of the Nguyen Dynasty of Vietnam. The tomb, lavishly decorated with mosaic pottery, looks dazzling at first glance, but somehow lonely. This may be because Khai Dinh was merely the emperor of a colony under French rule, but he imposed a heavy 30% tax on the people to build the tomb, and spent a huge amount of money on French ornaments, losing the affection of his selfish people.
