[Tokyo/Shinobazu Pond Benten-do] A beautiful temple filled with blessings

Kan'ei-ji Temple was built by Tenkai Daisojo, the great priest of Jigen, during the Kan'ei era in the early Edo period. To resemble the area around Kyoto, Shinobazu Pond was made into Lake Biwa, and a small island modeled after Chikubushima Island in the pond was built in the middle of the pond, and the Bentendo Hall was built to enshrine Benzaiten from Hogon-ji Temple on Chikubushima Island. 　 In the past, worshippers would use a boat to get to the temple, but now there is a bridge! You can reach the temple by crossing this bridge from the Kannon-do Hall. The Chozuya (purification fountain) on the left is beautifully decorated to match the autumn leaves. In front of the hall is a statue of "Ugajin."
