🚗 Shaoguan. Guanyin Temple + Guanyin Cave

#2024TravelReview I drove to Shaoguan and visited Donghua Temple for the first time. I didn’t expect that a Zen temple would cover such a large area. Before reaching the main gate of the Zen temple, the Guanyin Zen Temple and Guanyin Cave outside the temple are enough to spend several hours! The main deity enshrined in the Yuantong Hall in the Guanyin Temple is, as the name suggests, Vairocana Buddha, but why are there Manjushri Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva on both sides of the main deity? Because Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva had attained Buddhahood countless kalpas ago, he is also known as Yuantong Ancient Buddha and Zhengfaming Tathagata. So these three are the "Three Holy Ones of Avatamsaka": Vairocana Buddha, Manjushri Bodhisattva and Samantabhadra Bodhisattva. I was very surprised to find that there is a Guanyin Cave behind the temple! It is a thousand-year-old stalactite cave that houses several different statues of Guanyin. When you visit the cave in summer, you will immediately feel the coolness inside. There are several small holes in the cave that allow light from outside to penetrate naturally. The magnetic field energy in the cave feels very strong! There is a lake next to the parking lot. There are several pavilions and pagodas in the lake. The trees next to it are tied with red ribbons for praying for blessings and making wishes. There is also a lush Bodhi tree at the entrance of the temple, which is particularly beautiful under the sunlight.
