I enjoyed my stay at the Stoke Hotel. The room was comfortable, I was beside the laundry/maintenance room and noticed some noise during the day but not in the evenings or nights, it never bothered me. My room was adjacent to the hot tub and I did hear some loud good times but it didn't bother me and it was quiet by bedtime. Breakfast had so much selection. Waffles, eggs, potatoes, bacon, sausage, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, apples, grapefruit, oranges, muffins, bagels, and various breads and cookies. The hot foods are alternated, just so many options, it was fantastic and made for slow mornings sometimes. The breakfast staff were welcoming, great at stocking up and tidying up. The mornings were very enjoyable.
The bus shuttle stop was nearby and the front desk gave bus vouchers when I asked. There was also a free shuttle service downtown, to the Regent Hotel, just a matter of requesting after 5:30pm.
Staff were friendly, the premises were clean, my room and bed were comfy. Had a great stay even though it was not downtown and I didn't have a car.
Denny's, McDonald's, tim Hortons and a&w are in walking distance. Good location and comfortable stay.
The hotel is located on the side of the road. The rooms are small, but the sanitary conditions are OK, the parking lot is also more convenient, not far from the city, you can go to the nearby park.
Very beautiful room with park view, Tesla supercharger charger just on the back, free EV charger nearby. Front desk staff is professional and friendly, Swiss white chocolate impressed me. 10/10
The room was very clean and had been recently renovated. The manager was very accommodating. She stored our bikes for us. Overall outstanding value for the price.
The heating is terrible! Looking for the boss, he said that the fixed temperature has been set, usually 10 degrees, if necessary, you can adjust it to 2 degrees. My God, in the weather of minus 2 degrees, I caught a cold 😷
It was a good price for what the room besides the stove not working. There was no continental breakfast only coffee but they allow pets with a deposit.

GGuest UserMy friend and I were very impressed with the Arbutus Inn. It was a very clean hotel and was newly renovated. The renovations were very tasteful and our room was very nice. You could also tell that there were new beds. They were very comfortable and had a good design. I was especially impressed that there no ”smoke” smell in the rooms or in the hotel lobby. All in all it was a very good experience.
AAnonymous UserThe hotel has solid amenities, there’s a gym, pool, and a functional kitchen. The room was spacious and had everything needed for a comfortable short stay. It’s a good option if you’re looking for a place with complete facilities at a reasonable price.
That said, cleanliness could be better. The room had a dusty smell, and the walls were visibly dusty, which took away from the overall comfort. Some finishes, like the cemented sinks in the kitchen and bathroom, felt a bit unfinished.
Service was okay, staff were polite, though not welcoming. Check-in is at 4:00 PM and check-out is at 10:00 AM, which doesn’t give much flexibility.
Overall, a decent stay with good amenities, but there’s room for improvement in cleanliness and service.
GGuest UserIf you want or only need the basics m, then this is fine. Relatively clean. Not far from decent places to eat. Not sure if I’d go back but Vancouver is an expensive place so for a fixed budget, this place makes sense.
JJillqIt was just a fantastic place...right on the beach. Couldn't have asked for a better location. The interior was just as fantastic.. Spacious with all modern furniture; An ensuite bathroom with shower off one of the 2 queen bedrooms. a king bedroom was the 3rd bedroom. A second bathroom had a tub shower.
We didn't use any of the kitchen cooking utensils, but everything needed to cook seemed to be there.
A washer/dryer came in handy as did the dishwasher. However only one tab for each was provided, so bring your own if you will need to do more than 1 wash for each.
Reception staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay there very much.
GGuest UserFor the price, the size of the room (2 bedroom and kitchen) and the location with convenient parking it’s honestly a very good stay and deal for a family. The beach is literally right there, the parking is in front of your room door and the pool is nice too.
That being said, there’s a few things you should be aware of that other people mentioned in their comments. The bad smell other mentioned is true, it’s on and off smells like laundry that stayed in the washer. The AC/Fridge are indeed loud. The overall cleanliness is not so great, but I believe the beds and sheets were clean and that’s kind of all that matters in the end.
GGuest UserIt’s an okay place to stay for a night after a long journey. Unfortunately, the pool was out of order during our stay due to a broken heater. We tried the hot tub, but the water was too hot to get in. Breakfast was basic, nothing special. The hallway was very cold, and the draft made its way into our room. The bathroom had a strange smell, but it appeared clean.
GGuest UserThere was no elevator, but only 2 short sets of stairs. Was not a problem. Room was good, although don’t understand why there aren’t rooms available at solo travellers prices. No safe.Hot tub had sand in the bottom . No towels one time. Pool area clean though. Breakfast was good, ran out of a few items and had to ask for them. Good selection of tea, although no Red Rose. Coffee was awesome. Wondering if a smoking tower could be out by picnic tables. Such a nice spot to sit. Instead of smoking out front at the entrance.
GGuest UserI'm usually pretty forgiving when it comes to this type of accommodation
But I draw the line at a dirty bathroom that has lots of black hair in the tub and a dirty toilet
Also the lighting is rather dark in the room so I didn't notice until this morning that the ceramic cup I was using to add water to the coffee maker was dirty
Thankfully I had brought in my tim Hortons cup to use
Yuk I opted not to have a shower this morning
My hair color is blonde and Grey
