Decent stop over after we travelled from Thorpe Park to get to Alton towers the following day. Got there at 20:30 and check in was smooth. The lady on the desk was friendly! Bed was comfy enough, bathroom could’ve been a bit cleaner but was decent enough for the night!
Room is basic but that's all that was needed for 1 night. Some mould on blind but for the price I can overlook little things like that. Staff in bar very friendly and accomidating. Loud music can be heard from pub until late but my 6yr old still managed to sleep through it so didnt cause any issues. I would recommend for a cheaper stay over for Drayton Manor as its so close to the park.
Lovely hotel plenty of space in rooms & public areas. two negatives. One was the request for £5 on arrival for parking which I didn’t know about or perhaps I didn’t see on the reservation. Sunday breakfast was the usual late rush of people coming down. The buffet wasn’t being replenished so I had hard fried eggs. Self Service tea and coffee I guess is a necessity but I would prefer a jug of hot water and a pot of tea.
The room is very large, the location is also in the core area, very close to the supermarket and the station
The service staff is also very warm, breakfast can be ordered, and free, very good
At check-in the reception staff member was more interested in watching football and I was told to wait they watched football!!!!
I did not sleep well as the hotel has a loose rope on the flag pole, told in morning that being loose since lockdown. All night a loud metal tinging sound.
The hotel has an amazing heritage and the room shares this heritage, I wish just the staff would book time off for football and did regular site checks every day. Lastly the reception is not 24/7.
Very nice hotel. It is also the training base of the British football team. There is even an indoor court next to the hotel that can change the temperature and humidity at any time. However, I didn’t see any stars during my stay, only the youth training.
Take time out with Premier Inn Hotel Stafford North (Spitfire), just minutes from the centre of the historic market town of Stafford. And, with such great transport links nearby, you'll be well placed to get out and explore business and leisure attractions around Staffordshire. Catch the main event at Staffordshire County Show Ground. Seek out thrills and spills at Alton Towers. Or stroll through the gardens at Trentham Estate. After a busy day, head back for a tasty meal in our restaurant and unwind in your new, modern rooms and extra-comfy kingsize Hypnos bed.
The room is not big, it is enough, there is no air conditioning, but the environment is very good, you can order food on the first floor, there is a bar to drink a few cups 🍺, there are local characteristics, very quiet and not noisy
Fantastic location right in the centre of town which also has parking (you must register your car for free parking). My room was in the annex and was a bit dated. It had everything I needed for a 3 night stay though and was spacious although the bathroom was quite small. Rooms are not serviced and I’d not been left a spare toilet roll. When I went to get one from Reception, there didn’t appear to be a stock so I was given one taken from the public washroom. Also, the shower couldn’t be adjusted so was a constant, very hot, temperature.
Plenty of places nearby for food and drinks.

Amazing
GGuest UserLovely hotel plenty of space in rooms & public areas. two negatives.
GGuest UserHotel really clean and modern. Room was spacious and smelt amazing. Clean modern decor. Most staff are friendly, however, we booked breakfast when we arrived at the hotel, and the pot washer not only stood in the kitchen staring out at guests making them feel extremely uncomfortable, but then he also went and put his fingers in the food to stir the scrambled eggs, but he also picked up a sausage and ate it. The hotel refunded us, but it made us feel sick. Also, £9 per night per car in the Hilton car park is pretty steep.
GGuest UserWhat a lovely stay we've had! Cleanliness is spot on, great breakfast with plenty to choose from, we visited the pool as well, very warm and clean, shame it's only available in 45mins slots
GGuest UserWe booked to stay here as we had a daytime function nearby. We had a few hotels as options and chose here as it was a special occasion and this felt like a treat.
We all arrived at different times to get changed before leaving and said we all felt like we were an inconvenience from the moment we arrived. The staff weren't friendly or very helpful.
We arrived back from our function at 7.30pm and checked in, there was a change in staff but not a change in customer service.
We asked if we could get food from the restaurant and was told we couldn't because of ”everything else going on” which we assume was a wedding nor could we order room service. We asked if we were allowed to go for a drink in the bar and they said we could if we ”could find a table”.
We weren't informed of where breakfast was, the times or when check out was.
We went out for food in the end, but be mindful there isn't anything particularly nearby so it was a challenge with taxis but we found somewhere to eat easy enough (and had a lovely time).
The hotel itself is beautiful as are the grounds so we were really disappointed that the service didn't match it.
GGuest UserWe really like staying here, if only for a single night to break up the evening drive from the south to the north west, picking our trip up again the following morning. Our most recent visit was the first using our new (to us) EV, so charging on site proved anxiety calming and very effective - albeit pricey! Thanks again to all concerned with our stay, we'll be back again - that is for sure! Best, M&C
GGuest UserA great little place with a lovely swimming pool. Enough activities to keep our 8 year old daughter happy. Lovely family time together in a very clean and well equipped lodge.
GGuest UserBack ina time it was really great hotel and now it is till they need little bit renovation but trust me it’s a great hotel nice swimming pool you have to have swimming cap and googles to swim which was not told before and I don’t think k this is right but service rooms breakfast location is all great another thing I do t like they took deposit which didn’t make sense and they haven’t returned yet
GGuest UserGreat receptionist who was very welcoming and friendly. Good location for access to the A500 and A34 roads as well as a bus stop only a 5 minute walk away. Unfortunately, the hotel itself is very dated and lack on soundproofing between the rooms is a major issue. I could hear the guy in the room below talking and could also hear the room next door opening and closing their toilet seat! I was awoken at 1am with an inconsiderate neighbour with their tv on very loud and coughing loudly. There is a main wing and smaller wing to the side. I stayed on the 1st floor in the main wing but I would recommend you ask for the 1st floor in the small wing to minimise the number of people around you and source of external noise.
View from the room was nice however.
GGuest UserI was pleasantly surprised by the decor of the room and bathroom!
The room was clean and well presented.
The bed was very comfortable.
The shower was great with lovely toiletries.
Despite being on a main road there was very little traffic noise.
The pub was clean and tidy with a good food menu and lovely beer garden.
It's well situated for travel as its close to moto.rway links etc .
The only downsides are:
The staircase to the rooms is a little rickety. Its an old building, so it adds to the character.
We were on the 3rd floor in the most recent heatwave and there is no air conditioning so it was very hot. Again, this is only probably an issue for 1 week of the year!!
I would certainly stay again and would recommend it
EEesahThe guesthouse itself is within walking distance to Stoke-on-Trent Train Station and Staffordshire University (college road & leek road). The room and the property was very clean. The Owner Gabriel and Property Manager Joe was very helpful and made me feel safe during my stay.
They accommodate long stay with discounted price. The rooms are exactly how the advertised on website (if anything better).Rooms are very big and spacious, bathroom were very clean.
Rooms had aesthetic lights ( also dimmable).
There were Sockets near bed and 2 work desk/ study desk and settee with coffee table.
Free WiFi at the property.
In short great find and will stay here again.
