I made the trip in search of fresh snow on the mountains, and it was a wonderful experience.
The food was also delicious, and I was very satisfied.
If I had to say one thing, it would be that you can't go to the hot springs in indoor footwear, so it's a good idea to bring sandals or something similar.
Its a great hotel, with walking distance to echigo yuzawa station, 7 eleven and ski rental shop. It has great breakfast and spacious hotel rooms. Comfortable onsen and private onsen available, never forget the free ice cream and free supper (soya ramen). Great hospitality and worth the price.
It was our second time staying at Naeba. The rooms are not the best, the floor is dirty but at least they staff were diligent to make the bed and change our towels daily.
The selling point is really the slopes and the scale of the hotel which has more than 6 buildings, with 4 rental shops spread across the various lobbies, multiple ski schools, eateries, which is very family friendly.
The ski area is great for December (start of the season) not too crowded and priced reasonably (food, rental etc) Children below 12 yo get free lift passes.
My asks: laundry dryers can be better, and I wish the rooms are freshened up and old carpets removed. But overall, the scale of it, and amenities make it a great stay.
The hotel has a hot spring, a snow park, and a shuttle bus to and from Kamikoku ski resort. It's so comfortable to soak in a hot spring after skiing.
There is a shuttle bus for transportation. It's a 45-minute drive from Yuzawa Station. It's a little far, but it's one of the best choices for skiing near Tokyo.
The staff's English is really not good, and the communication is... quite different from Tokyo. Not everyone is friendly, but I like it. Because it's not a tourist attraction, I guess there are not many foreigners who come here to stay.
The cabin we stayed with a king bed is very nice. The staff are very welcoming and speak good English too. The onsen is my favorite. As it was off peak, not crowded. The dinner and breakfast top up was very worth it as well. We ate very well and enjoyed the fireplace outside the restaurant afterward. Rem to check out the merchandise and the Snow Peak Museum nearby. I hope to come back again one day.
We enjoyed ourselves tremendously at Naspa. The room was huge and luxurious by Japanese standard, in my opinion. It was clean too!
The breakfast spread was amazing.
It's a ski in n out resort. Decent slopes, sufficient for us to ski for 2 days.
Its very easy to get to the train station to the resort. The stop is few steps to the r
Left from the enterance of the station. Vice versa, The half-hourly shuttle to Echigo Yuzawa station and back made it very convenient for us to grab dinner and snacks at 7-11 or NewsDay.
The Onsen was much needed after each ski day.
We'll be back NASPA!
In general I like this hot spring hotel which was built on the venue containing 16 houses dated back to the 17th century. The hotel itself, its garden and room all look not bad. However the AC at the boutique shop was broken yesterday and it was super hot to shop there. Not sure if it’s repaired today. An opened brush bag without toothpaste was kept in the bathroom- they expected me to use or what? The service and food can both be better - but do not take it wrong - they are already good - it’s just I have a very high standard in particular when we talk about foods. I like the two free liquor - one sale the other plum wine- provided every evening 17:00-19:30 though. :) The Hotel can organise many experiencing and traveling activities and you need to book online ahead. Free shuttle service between the hotel and ECHIGO YUZAWA STATION is provided and you also need to book in advance - very generous gesture.
Spectacular views particularly from the corner room. Amenities packs were provided for children and onsite overnight parking available. Walking distance from the Bandai Pier markets and there's a cafe/shop upstairs with a convenience store in the same building (only open to 7pm) downstairs.
Hotel with hot spring and others facilities like swimming pool and gym room. Room are big enough for 3-4 persons. Location a bit far from town if with car no issue at all. Hotel do provide bus but time limited till 6pm. All staffs could not speak English so communication was an issue if you request something.

AAnonymous UserGreat location! Right in front of Niigata Station with lots of restaurants nearby. Isetan is only a 10-minute walk away.

XXixudehuchaziToyoko Inn is excellent as always. It is right outside Joetsu-myoko Station, with a great location, good breakfast, and clean rooms. There is an Otoya restaurant next to it, and the set meals there are very good! There are not many hotels to choose from around this station, so I just stayed here.
GGuest UserRoom was spacious. But overall hotel is old and certain parts of it felt like stepping into North korea. But it was quaint and suited the old town vibes. Hotel provided free shuttle from echigo yuzawa station. Room only had Japanese tea cups and no spoons. Parts of the room had cobwebs and similarly at the onsen. They charged a 150 yen per person per day for onsen regardless if utilised or not. And this charge was not told to us through trip.com or during check in. Staff did not understand English at all. We had to use translator to communicate. The free dinner provided was nice for the first night then it became meh. And they strictly prohibited guests to bring own drinks to dinner as they had a drink menu. 350 yen + tax for a glass of coke. Staff were polite and nice.
IIYAClean and comfortable, very suitable for family travel, parking is also convenient. In short, it is highly recommended for parents and children. If you drive in Xinyi, choose this one, the service is great!

1118837****The hotel is located a few hundred meters up the slope to the right after exiting Echigo-Yuzawa Station's west gate. I was immediately struck by the university upon leaving the station. Although the road was a bit slippery, I arrived at the hotel and checked in without a hitch. The breakfast was plentiful, and there are two free public hot springs and a private one (reservations required). Soaking in the hot springs after skiing was absolutely wonderful.
GGuest UserStaffs are very friendly, even though they don't speak much English, they would try their best to communicate with you.
The hotel is located on a little hill side, so there's a lovely view, one side of the room has the ocean view (see image), the other side of the room has the spectacular snow mountain view (didn't take image).
The hotel building itself believe is a bit old, so the rooms and bathrooms are a bit dated, but you can tell they try to modernize as much as they could, like very new aircon, new hairdryer (there's one old one attached to the wall which doesn't work, but the new one is in the drawer), TV etc. Bathroom is a little rundown, but it still function fine. The room key was really a ”key”, which you also have to insert into the wall and turn it for lights and electric in the room, it's quite retro and interesting, and it's the first time I've came across this kind of system.
Hotel restaurant was the same one as the we stayed in an other city, and food standard was the same - which was good.
Breakfast was superb, we loved it.
Overall the experience was good and we were happy with our stay.
