Pet Friendly Hotels in Hainan, China

This is a decent, standard airport hotel, very close to the airport. They offer a shuttle bus every half hour, though you can actually walk to the terminal. There's also an outlet mall next door for shopping and dining. The facilities are relatively new and have all the necessary amenities. Most of the staff are dedicated and helpful, though a very small number had slightly poor attitudes, which I can understand if they were on a night shift. Special thanks to the housekeeping staff, who were very warm, hospitable, and went out of their way to help guests, even providing a charging cable to a guest next door, which wasn't even part of her job. There was a faint lingering smell of smoke in the room when I entered, but that's not the hotel's fault; it's due to a previous guest violating the no-smoking policy.

This hotel boasts a prime location right in the heart of Yalong Bay. Step onto the balcony, and you're greeted with an endless expanse of turquoise ocean – perfect for watching the sunrise in the morning and enjoying the sea breeze in the evening. The garden features beautifully arranged swimming pools surrounded by lush tropical greenery, making it incredibly photogenic whether you're relaxing or snapping pictures for social media. The room was spotless, with soft and comfortable bedding, and a well-designed bathroom with separate wet and dry areas. Even the toiletries were high-quality. The facilities are comprehensive, including a gym, swimming pools, and a kids' club. There's plenty of space for friends to enjoy activities together, so you'll never be bored. I have to give a special shout-out to the butler service! They proactively contacted me even before check-in and thoughtfully provided welcome fruits upon arrival. Any requests we had were met with incredibly prompt responses, which made us feel completely at ease.

Hotel has connecting family rooms available for booking. Hotel does not restrict smoking in non-smoking rooms. The rooms at level 8,9,10 had guests smoking in their rooms that affected ours via the aircon vents. Level 7 where laundry room is located, is also the same level for hotel members’ mahjong room = smoking rooms. 4 washer and 4 dryers + iron + board. Level 6 is the restaurant where breakfast is served. Typical Chinese cuisine breakfast. There is no gym room at this property. Location is alright though eatery is a distance away. Walking distance of 10mins to reach Waika International Hotel area where minimarts, fruits and restaurants can be found.

I've stayed at four Hilton hotels across Hainan, and this one definitely feels a bit old. Seriously, two or three outlets in our room (3517) were broken!?! And while the public areas are by the sea, they're not particularly beautiful and lack that relaxed, resort-like vibe. The pool isn't great either, and only one was open, so I didn't even bother using it. Breakfast was especially bad – they must be cutting corners too much! My husband even pointed out that their Hainan specialty 'Zaopo Vinegar' didn't even have any seafood in it! Also, I have to speak up for the little animals. Those few squirrels are quite pitiful; their activity space is too small. It feels a bit like animal cruelty. They should be released; it would be a truly meritorious act!

My stay was initially quite pleasant. The front-line staff were consistently warm, attentive, and thoughtful throughout. When a small issue arose with our travel photos, the hotel promptly communicated and resolved it, which I appreciated. I thought I was going to have a wonderful experience, but it was completely ruined by one utterly unprofessional staff member, plummeting my satisfaction! While riding the shuttle bus, we politely asked the shuttle driver about the hotel's attractions and photo spots. The driver was halfway through explaining when another person nearby suddenly interjected and answered for him! Her attitude was extremely rude, cold, and dismissive. She was sarcastic the entire time, even accusing us of not speaking clearly. We were just asking basic, straightforward questions about attractions, and I truly don't understand how we could have possibly expressed ourselves more 'clearly'. When we politely asked about photo spots, she flat-out said there weren't any, and was incredibly impatient. Yet, later we saw clear signs for photo spots all over the hotel. We got zero useful information, only a belly full of frustration and anger! Afterward, the hotel told us this person was a 'secondary employee' and wasn't on duty, which is why she wasn't wearing an ID badge. I completely reject this flimsy explanation! Why was she wearing a uniform, riding a guest shuttle, and casually interjecting to address guests if she wasn't on duty? It's one thing to be unfamiliar with hotel operations and lack service awareness, but she didn't even have basic human decency. She seemed to be working with a chip on her shoulder, acting condescendingly, as if we, the guests, were accommodating her bad mood! In stark contrast, all the other shuttle drivers were kind, friendly, patient, and enthusiastic, creating an incredibly jarring difference! The hotel's reputation, carefully built by its front-line staff, was completely destroyed by this 'secondary employee' who showed no rules, no professionalism, and no respect. The hotel merely offered a casual explanation of her identity without any indication of intending to improve. Such tolerance for employee misconduct is truly disheartening. I will never recommend this hotel, nor will I ever stay here again!

While the hotel exterior didn’t quite match the photos on the booking platform, our actual stay was very pleasant. The highlight was the exceptional customer service. We had an issue with cigarette smoke drifting into our room, but the lady duty manager went above and beyond to move us to a room of our choosing. The location is excellent - surrounded by cafes, bakeries, and restaurants - and perfect for anyone wanting an authentic local experience. A heads-up for international travellers: breakfast is strictly Chinese cuisine with no Western options (coffee, tea, or bread). Would be good if hotel can improve smoke control, particularly in the elevators and lobby area. Overall, a recommended stay for service and convenience!

I just can't help but rave about the Grand Hyatt Sanya Haitang Bay! First off, the ambiance – you feel the grandeur the moment you step in. Both the lounge and the gardens exude a high-end feel; every shot you take looks like it belongs in a magazine. The design is incredibly thoughtful, for instance, the bedside switches are conveniently placed, and the lighting is smartly sectioned so you're not blinded if you get up at night. My absolute favorite part was the large balcony. Lying on the long sofa out there, enjoying the sea breeze with some tea and fruit – it was just bliss! The suite itself was spacious and beautiful, with clearly defined living and sleeping areas, making it feel incredibly open and bright. The bathtub and hot water were perfect; a hot bath and a show at night just melted away all the day's fatigue. The bedding was super comfortable – soft yet supportive – I just hit the pillow and slept soundly until morning. The AC temperature was just right, making for a very pleasant stay. An unexpected bonus was having a kitchen, which made it easy to whip up a simple seafood meal. And I have to praise the pool – the water was so clear you could see the tiles at the bottom. Staff were constantly maintaining it every day, so swimming felt completely safe. The breakfast was abundant and incredibly delicious, especially the noodles, which were thin and crispy – so good. Oh, and for parents with furry friends, listen up! The hotel has a dedicated, large, and clean grassy area for pets to play. It’s incredibly thoughtful! All in all, this experience was absolutely worth it. I'll definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Sanya!

This stay was a truly delightful surprise! The large window in the room perfectly framed the mountains and rice paddies like a painting. Waking up to that view instantly brightened my entire day. The room's design felt very premium, and the afternoon tea coupled with the huge bathtub really elevated the whole vacation experience! Taking a bath in the evening washed away all the day's fatigue. From the ambiance to the service, you could feel the genuine sincerity everywhere. It was a stay that far exceeded my expectations.

Service: First, I want to commend Lesly Huang for her enthusiastic and professional service. On the day of check-in, she arranged a room upgrade for us and seamlessly joined the twin beds, which made for a very comfortable sleep – truly the biggest bonus of this stay. The pool staff were also excellent, patiently accompanying the children to switch the water slide on and off, even under the hot sun. The restaurant staff were equally warm and accommodating. Kudos to the Sheraton Haikou for its excellent service! Cleanliness: Standard five-star hotel level, no issues there. Environment: See the pictures for details. The pool has large slides, separated for children and adults (operating during specific time slots daily), and there's a hot spring pool in the evening (very relaxing). One minor complaint: the hotel clearly has East and West wings, and the restaurant also has two entrances, but only the West wing entrance was open. We walked all the way from the East wing to the restaurant door, only to find a 'closed' sign, forcing us to turn back (either by going up and down floors or walking around the perimeter under the scorching sun). I suggest clearer signage on the path from the East wing to the restaurant. Facilities: Although the hotel is a bit older, the room equipment is generally well-maintained. Only some rooms have TV casting capabilities, so if you need this, inform the front desk in advance. The breakfast restaurant's tableware was the biggest letdown of this trip. For a five-star hotel's noodle bar, all the bowls were chipped. On the first day, I almost cut my mouth. Over two days, I picked up 4-6 chipped bowls – even an ordinary restaurant wouldn't do this. See the pictures for details. Not only was it unappetizing, but it also posed a safety hazard. I asked the restaurant manager, who said it was a quality issue with this batch of bowls, purchased only three months ago. It's unacceptable for a Sheraton to still be using bowls in this condition after three months. PS: The hotel is directly connected to the beach, no need to cross any roads. It's a 5-minute walk through the hotel grounds from the lobby to the sea. It's convenient for digging in the sand, and the beach is managed by the municipality and seemed quite clean. So, for a family vacation in Haikou, the Sheraton is still recommended.

The room's decor was also incredibly thoughtful – the hotel folded towels into adorable little elephants and sprinkled rose petals, adding a delightful touch. The bedding was soft and comfortable, and falling asleep to the sound of the waves was incredibly therapeutic! **Super Family-Friendly – Effortless Fun for Kids, Relaxing for Parents!** The family facilities were fantastic. The dedicated children's art studio was a wonderful surprise – the walls were covered with kids' creative artworks, and there were all sorts of craft materials and plaster painting available. Our child was instantly captivated and happily created for an entire afternoon, finally giving this mom a much-needed break! The hotel's IP mascots also came out to interact and take photos with the kids, who were thrilled throughout! The lawn in the complex was also superb, with sculptures of giraffes and flamingos, as well as lounge chairs and sunshades. Taking the kids out on the lawn to enjoy the breeze and sunshine was so relaxing and comfortable. 🏋️ **Comprehensive Amenities – Adults Can Enjoy a Relaxing Getaway Too!** No need to worry about getting bored at the hotel! The gym had a full range of equipment and was clean and bright, so you could keep up with your fitness routine even on vacation. The view from the buffet restaurant's scenic terrace was incredible – we enjoyed the sea breeze while overlooking the city and the ocean. In the evening, it was perfect for a stroll and a drink, romantic and pleasant. 👩💼 **Impeccable Service – A Truly Elevated Experience!** From check-in to check-out, we received thoughtful care every step of the way. The front desk staff were efficient and welcoming during check-in, and housekeeping was prompt and thorough daily. They even decorated the room differently for holidays, showcasing their attention to detail. The hotel's dining options were also diverse, with everything from seafood buffets to specialty restaurants, catering to different tastes. You don't even have to leave the hotel to enjoy authentic local cuisine. This hotel is perfect for both couples and families with children. You can relax by the sea and keep the kids entertained effortlessly. The amenities, service, and views are all top-notch. It's definitely on my must-stay list for Sanya! I sincerely recommend it to anyone visiting Sanya – you'll fall in love after one stay.
