Pet Friendly Hotels in Hainan, China

This was our last stop on our Sanya vacation. Initially, I wasn't planning on staying at Rosewood because it felt a bit too 'influencer-trendy.' But then the terrible hygiene and outrageous attitude at JW Marriott practically elbowed me straight into Rosewood. I checked in in such a rush that I didn't really have much of an impression at first, just thought it was a slightly more expensive five-star hotel. It wasn't until the next morning, when I pulled back the curtains and saw the sunrise, and then experienced the perfect breakfast, that I truly understood how great Rosewood was. Switching hotels was definitely the right decision. I'll be back!

This hotel is simply outstanding. From the infrastructure to the beach environment, everything is top-notch. First off, the rooms aren't old at all. I stayed in a garden view room, and there wasn't a hint of dampness or aging. As for those who call it 'hostel-style,' I can only say they don't appreciate minimalist solid wood aesthetics. Secondly, the golf cart service is very responsive; there absolutely is a butler service. Thirdly, the service is impeccable. They replenish water generously every day with good brands, and they're always ready to assist. Their snorkeling prices are fair. Many people compare Park Hyatt and Mandarin Oriental; I feel that if you're only choosing between these two, and money isn't an issue, you should definitely try both. The experiences are different. Mandarin Oriental offers true relaxation and a laid-back vibe, while Park Hyatt focuses on exquisite details. The restaurants are also excellent, and they even offer restaurant group deals with fair prices.

I stayed at Raffles Clearwater Bay for four days, and it was a very comfortable experience overall – the kind of hotel you don't really want to leave. The hotel environment is very peaceful, with excellent landscaping. Walking around the grounds, you don't feel any noise or hustle. Watching the sea during the day and feeling the breeze at night, the pace naturally slows down, making it perfect for a trip where you're not rushing anything and just want to relax. The room was quite satisfying. It was spacious and kept very clean. The bedding and bathroom facilities were comfortable, and I felt completely at ease using them. Every day coming back to the room, it felt 'tidied up and taken care of,' which was a huge plus. The staff were generally very friendly, not with a forced enthusiasm, but rather in a way that made interaction feel very relaxed. I especially want to mention my room butler, Chloris. She anticipated many details in advance, and communication was very smooth without needing repeated explanations. She was very steady in her work, responded promptly, and never made me feel disturbed. She genuinely made my stay much more worry-free these past few days. Honestly, having her around made the entire check-in process naturally smoother. I went for breakfast every day. The variety was quite comprehensive, with both Chinese and Western options, fresh ingredients, and plenty of choices, so you wouldn't get tired of it after just a couple of days. Sitting down to enjoy a leisurely breakfast before heading out for a walk was my most relaxing moment each day. Overall, this hotel doesn't try to create 'surprises,' but all the important comfort aspects are perfectly executed. It's clean, quiet, and offers meticulous service, making you feel at ease staying there. If I come back to Clearwater Bay in the future, I would likely choose this place again.

I was torn between the Le Meridien splash room and the Westin Premier Ocean View for a while, and I'm so glad I chose the Westin. I even went to see Le Meridien in person later and was relieved I made the right choice. Our Westin butler, Mile, proactively added me on WeChat to understand our needs. She specifically reserved a room on the 6th floor with a better view for us. Upon check-in, the kids received a small gift, and our luggage was delivered directly to our room. Throughout our stay, she thoughtfully sent us information about relevant activities, and even brought a small cake for the kids on the second day. It was a wonderful travel experience.

The handsome guy at the front desk upgraded me to a room with a higher floor and a better view. The room is uniquely designed, brightly lit and cozy (many hotel rooms are not very brightly lit), which is very satisfactory. We had dinner at the hotel, the restaurant service was very enthusiastic, and they specifically noted that our dishes should be lighter, and the dishes served were really good, thank you 🙏. The hotel is next to the scenic spot. Although it was drizzling, it was still nice to borrow an umbrella from the front desk to walk around. In February, I could smell the faint fragrance of osmanthus and saw many flowers I had never seen before. It is a very good hotel!

Whenever I want to eat seafood, I always like to go to Maniao. The first choice for staying is Lingao Country Garden Golden Beach. The hotel should have been opened for more than ten years. The hotel facilities are well maintained and the service level is excellent. This year, it was quite unexpected that a staff member contacted me in advance the day before check-in, and arranged a room for me in advance and upgraded it. Thank you very much. I hope that the service level can be maintained for a long time. There are not many good hotels on the west line of Hainan.

Let me first say, hotels are always looking for a good review, but I will only give a good review if I honestly feel they deserve it. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Qixian~ the resort grounds are absolutely stunning. My husband and I were so pleasantly surprised to discover that the resort has been thoughtfully designed to feel part of the rainforest. Everywhere you look there are giant boulders, gurgling clear streams, ancient trees and hidden trails that make you feel you are walking deep in a forest. All you hear are the birds and the water rushing in the streams! We have travelled all over China, and this is the quietest, most authentic feeling nature spot we have ever experienced. In addition, there are so many hot springs you can choose to relax in, or you can use the hot spring attached to your balcony! The restaurant has a good variety and we liked everything we ordered, it was fresh and flavorful, we tried the pork ribs and braised tofu, both delicious, but the green coconut filled buns were a perfect ending! The lobby staff was friendly and helpful, and gave us all kinds of upgrades! You can get pickup on the carts anytime, but we preferred to walk and enjoy the beauty, the resort grounds feel huge, but honestly its well designed so you can reach any spot in 5-10 minutes. Also, they have all kinds of activities you can join. We really enjoyed the rainforest walk, the lady from the Li family that conducted the walk was so lovely, we could tell she really had a connection to the forest and just radiated joy as she showed us all the plants, it was one of the highlights of our stay! Our room was clean, the sheets were soft and the bed was comfortable. The view onto the palm forest was so relaxing to look at as we soaked in the spring. The infinity pool was spectacular, the setting is gorgeous and peaceful. The coconuts and dessert we ordered were really good, however, the drinks we ordered were awful and maybe they can get some more outgoing staff to work at the pool bar, maybe because it was winter time and less people are at the pool? Breakfast is served in a building that overlooks the river, there is ALL kinds of food, if you are a Westerner you can find fried eggs, toast, and pastries. But I recommend going to the area where fresh rice noodle is made for you on the spot, add toppings and fried eggs, it was delicious! There are some rustic areas to the resort- it feels a bit abandoned in areas, like its just too big to keep up with ie. Giant empty pools, some of the buildings look in desperate need of refurbishing, but overall we felt like the resort was truly beautiful and amenities really made this a great value for the price we paid. We are already planning to come back when we need a break from the city!

Facilities: The facilities are quite comprehensive, with a swimming pool and a water park. The kids had a blast, and the staff were very responsible, helping to look after them. If you need to leave for a short time, you can ask the water park staff to watch your children, and they do a great job. However, I couldn't find a self-service laundry area, so if you're staying for an extended period, you'll need to figure out your own laundry. There are very few charging stations; only a few above ground, and the underground parking only has dedicated Tesla chargers. The staff weren't very clear on this; we circled around several times without finding any, and only after asking customer service were we told there weren't any. Later, needing to charge urgently, we had to go to Dajiao Park for a fast charge. The hotel has a restaurant, and the prices are reasonable. You can also go to Changhua Town to eat; there's a small shop there that serves more than just noodles, and their dishes are delicious. The owner is very welcoming, and things aren't expensive. They even have my favorite pea and minced pork noodles. Environment: The environment is great, the scenery is beautiful, and it's very close to the beach, perfect for clamming. Hygiene: Clean and tidy, and trash was promptly removed. The day before, the breakfast had pancakes, and they had made a lot. A guest saw a fly land on them, so the staff threw them all into the trash. The next day, there was a chef making them fresh on the spot, so hygiene is definitely assured. Service: If you need anything, you can contact the front desk, and a service staff member will respond quickly. We brought our child and requested extra blankets and drinking water, which were all delivered for free. There's a third-party photographer, but their skill level is very average. Just take the complimentary photos; don't choose extra photos for fine-tuning, as they look like fake Photoshop jobs. Their skill really isn't good.

Staying at the Hilton Wenchang this time was an absolute delight! So much emotional value. Many of the hotel's family-friendly activities are free, and childcare isn't expensive. Our butler, Lulu, was incredibly responsive to all our requests. Although the rocket launch we were hoping to see was canceled, we still had a fantastic time overall. This is definitely the top hotel for family trips to Wenchang. **Value for money:** Better than Sanya. **Recommendation:** Fu Ji Wenchang Chicken in Longlou Town. A must-try! **Downsides:** Qishui Bay Beach is public and quite commercialized, with some litter. **Small details:** Surprisingly, the plates used in the breakfast restaurant and executive lounge were plastic, which felt a bit cheap. There are a few minor details in the room that could be improved, like ensuring every window is sparkling clean.

This hotel is perfectly located! Just a few steps downstairs, you'll find a lively food street, a supermarket, and even a McDonald's. In the evening, it's a short walk to see the light show or visit the wedding manor. Everything you need for eating, shopping, and entertainment is right here, no need to venture far at all.
