This was a great stay. The service was amazing especially from Yang , they were very flexible as I arrived at late hours in the night and also helped me out greatly with my check out process . This is a great place to stay especially if you want peace and quiet

This hotel offers incredible value for money! The shuttle service was the biggest surprise – frequent departures, convenient stops, no need to squeeze onto public transport, and the vehicles were new and spotless. The room hygiene was impeccable; the desk and floor were dust-free, the bathroom had no strange odors, and there was plenty of hot water. The Atour pillows truly live up to their reputation, providing just the right support and significantly improving my sleep quality. Xiao Jing's service was an added bonus; upon check-in, she gave a detailed explanation of the shuttle and local attractions. When I casually mentioned wanting hot water, she immediately brought some, along with a thoughtful selection of tea. Her service was warm and attentive throughout my stay. Highly recommended!

Review: The Langham Shanghai — Still Well-Located, But No Longer the Same The Langham Shanghai has long been one of my preferred hotels, especially before the pandemic. After many stays, I’ve come to expect a certain standard of hospitality, consistency, and refinement. This recent visit, however, showed a noticeable decline across several areas. Service Overall service from the staff was acceptable. Front-line employees remained polite and tried their best. However, the manager on duty—a Caucasian manager—felt out of touch with Asian hospitality norms. His attitude came off as dismissive and rude, which immediately set the wrong tone. The contrast between the staff’s warmth and his behavior was striking. Breakfast Buffet The most significant drop was in the breakfast buffet. Quality has slipped in a way that’s hard to ignore: food didn’t taste as fresh, dishes weren’t as well prepared, and the overall selection felt uninspired compared to previous years. At this point, it’s honestly better to go out for breakfast. Room & Housekeeping Room cleanliness was fine, but small inconsistencies added up. Turn-down service was missed on some nights. When I requested water refill, the staff who arrived seemed confused about why she had been sent up, leading to an awkward exchange. These are small moments, but in a five-star hotel, they highlight cracks in training and coordination. Overall Impression The Langham Shanghai still has one unbeatable strength: location. But nearly everything else has declined—food, consistency, management attitude, and attention to detail. After years of loyalty, I’m now considering switching to a different hotel for future trips. The experience simply didn’t match the standards I’ve known and trusted from The Langham brand. A disappointing stay from a once-reliable favorite.

We were very happy with our stay at Riverdale Residence. The two-bedroom apartment was extremely comfortable for our family of five, as the unit was very spacious and well designed. The amenities were excellent and thoughtfully provided. The apartment came fully equipped with a washer-cum-dryer, microwave, oven, coffee machine, dishwasher, and a complete set of cutlery, which made our stay very convenient. Both the bedrooms and bathrooms were spacious, and we appreciated having a bathtub. There was ample space to open our luggage, generous wardrobe space for hanging clothes, a full-length mirror in the living room, and a dedicated cabinet for storing shoes. The living and dining area was also very comfortable, with a four-seater dining table where we enjoyed meals that we ordered in. The location is convenient, with Xintiandi within walking distance—about a 10-minute walk if you don’t mind a short stroll. Most importantly, the service staff were exceptionally helpful and polite throughout our stay. We were very impressed by their service and hospitality. We would definitely book Riverdale Residence again if we return to Shanghai.

The room was so clean that even the smallest details were impeccable. The bedding was so soft, it felt like sinking into a cloud, guaranteeing a wonderful night's sleep until morning. The front desk staff, both the young man and young woman, were smiling and welcoming throughout, and they even thoughtfully recommended local eateries. Plus, the hotel breakfast was incredibly rich and a delightful mix of Chinese and Western options – very satisfying! Next time I visit this city, I'll definitely choose this hotel again! Highly recommended.

This stay was absolutely fantastic! The hotel's shuttle bus service was so thoughtful, taking us directly from the airport to the hotel – super convenient and saved us a lot of hassle and effort! In the afternoon, we explored Qibao Ancient Town, which has such charming, old-world water town vibes with its historic buildings and cobblestone streets – truly full of character! When we got back to the hotel in the evening, we picked up some snacks and daily necessities at the hotel's small shop. The prices were reasonable, and there was a great selection, making it feel just as convenient as being at home!

The location is the suburban area of Shanghai with many food options and 2 supermarkets a stone throw away. Next to the popular Jin Qiang Beef Noodles which opens 24 hrs. Great if you prefer less touristy and more authentic neighbourhood. We took Didi everywhere and it's convenient in that sense. Room wise it was big and comfy and with thoughtful facilities. You can switch on the heater in the bathroom which is very helpful during colder months. Aircon works fine and small window could bw opened. Our room didn't come with a washing machine but there are self serviced ones on lvl 8. Hotel staff are very helpful and responsive. You can get a number from them to order Mei Tuan, and you probably have to register for Mei Tuan at the reception as a verification code will be sent to that number they gave you which u need to input on your phone. Walk around the neighbourhood and you discover authentic eats around the area.

The hotel is clean and tidy with an elegant environment. The soundproofing of the windows is excellent, so it's not noisy despite being close to the airport. Many thanks to the front desk for their patient and excellent service. Pudong Airport Terminal Shuttle: Departs on time and arrives at the terminal punctually.

The front desk staff, Ms. Jane, was especially nice. The room was spacious and close to the subway station. However, the current check-in situation is a bit awkward as there's no air conditioning, making it a bit hot, and there's a slight smoke smell in the room, which isn't ideal.

Staff was friendly and they used hover boards. I was surprised about this. But the men who used the hoverboards are really talented and friendly. Anyways, the check out was also smooth. I had the housekeeping sometimes advice to clean the table, cause sometimes they forgot about it. Towels were sufficient. The staff was funny, professional and talented. The quality of the washing machine wasn't good, cause it's running with cold water. Clothes weren't clean after washing. I CAN RECOMMEND TO USE HOT WATER FOR THE WASHING MACHINE. Detergent was free of charge.
