Hotel was lovely ,room was clean but a little small with no drawer space !
Room could benefit from more USB sockets as it had 2 but only one worked!
Door lock failed but was quickly resolved by maintanence, staff are very friendly .
Pool area was clean and we would return to the hotel 🙂
Lovely welcome at reception. Really helpful with parking.
The room was large, lovely and warm and had every thing we needed.
The most beautiful setting for breakfast again with friendly and helpful staff. Loved the decorated Christmas trees.
The hotel was in an ideal location for Bettys and the shops.
Having visited previously we were very much looking forward to spending 2 nights at The Feversham Arms. We were disappointed to see how tired the venue looked on the outside the sun was shining and we looked forward to spending the afternoon having lunch by the pool and Soaking up the sun.
The service was below par and the food was average despite being quite heavily priced. There wasn’t enough seats to accommodate the guests who all obviously wanted to do the same thing. The pool area had uplifted flags with weeds growing and the pool is in desperate need of repair. Having visited previously and been treated with kind and courteous staff I was disheartened by the attitude of some of the service staff, especially in the spa area and the alfresco dining area.
Stayed a few times at the Grand Hotel Scarborough, it is situated within a few minutes walk to the town for the shops and eateries also a 5 min walk from the train station.
The seafront, beach, arcades etc is either a tram ride away, a walk down steps or a stroll down through the town.
Our room was a double, but was 2 singles beds pushed together, the mattresses were very hard and uncomfortable, only one pillow each, we could've requested more from reception but normally these are usually found in wardrobe or on shelving in other hotels.
The view was OK overlooking the carpark to the front.
There was a small fridge which was on the floor by the dresser, very odd not on a surface like on drawers. A hairdryer, flat screen tv with no ITV, ironing board, kettle, cups coffee tea, bath towels etc were provided .
The Bathroom was a bit odd with the shower screen attached past the safety grab rail so water splashed onto the floor, the toilet was also slanted towards the bath.
Room was warm enough, a fan was in the wardrobe as no aircon but didnt use it, we had frequent visits from the local seagulls on our windowsill.
This hotel is OK, it's very dated with brown furnishings and the rooms/ skirting boards need a deep clean and refreshing.
Cannot comment on food, entertainment or bar as we didn't partake in these.
The hotel has a beautiful location. The antique building has been kept in excellent condition. We chose to stay in the Feature Double Room-old Hall. The room was very spacious, with seating area. A coffee machine was also available. Cool drinks in the fridge. Breakfast was delicious, individually cooked, with a wide choice. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend this hotel
Nice hotel room with a nice view. Only downside was the parking space was quite small. Finding parking was difficult. Overall, I enjoyed my stay very much.
I had a comfortable stay at the Holiday Inn York. The hotel is conveniently located about a 10-minute ride from the train station using bus 840 or 843, which made getting there fairly easy. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfortable, providing a relaxing place to unwind after a day of exploring.
The only drawback is the distance to the Hop On Hop Off bus pick-up point. We either had to take another bus or walk about 20 minutes to reach the nearest stop, which wasn’t always ideal.
Overall, the hotel offers good comfort and cleanliness, but travelers relying on sightseeing buses should plan for a bit of extra travel time.
The twin room was very small, the pillows were very thick and like boulders! Working out the lights situation in the room was tricky! The staff at reception were very good and friendly but the staff at breakfast were disinterested. Being able to store luggage during the days was very helpful and great location near the centre. It was average and not enough to tempt me to stay again.
I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton York for a short visit and, while the location was reasonably convenient, the overall experience fell short of expectations for a Hilton-branded hotel.
I was upgraded to a room located across the car park from the main building, accessed via stairs and without central heating. Instead, the room relied on standing portable heaters, which wasn’t ideal — especially given the wet weather and the need to walk outside to reach the room. The room itself felt quite tired and dated, with noticeably creaky floorboards both inside the room and from neighbouring rooms, which made it hard to fully relax.
The location is decent enough, but if you’re travelling by public transport there are better areas of York to stay in that offer easier access and a nicer overall setting.
I didn’t try the breakfast, as there are plenty of good local options nearby, which I enjoyed instead, so I don’t feel I missed out. One small disappointment was that coffee wasn’t available outside of breakfast hours.
Overall, with so many good accommodation options in York, I’m not likely to stay here again.
The location is great . The hotel was clean and pleasant. The only fault I had was coming back after the concert( which I think most of the hotel had) the poor bar lady was struggling to serve everyone . Also stock up on your nibbles . As they ran out as well . Be mindful if you’re not very mobile , as the left is retro . And if the residents don’t close the inner door then it is then disabled . That’s not the hotels fault , but it does mean you have to use the stairs . The breakfast was good . The staff were very helpful and friendly .
Very Good

YYorkshirelass2001The hotel is in an ideal location for the spa, town and beach. We arrived earlier than planned and although our room wasn’t ready we were able to leave our bags until check in time.
We had completed the online check in and so we just had to collect keys from reception. The room was clean and smelt fresh. It had tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge which was a bonus.
The bathroom was clean with both a bath and a shower. There was also complementary toiletries which we didn’t use as we had our own. The bed was huge and very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. There was a heater and a fan in the room as well as radiators.,
CCarlosOur staying at the Witching Post Inn could have not been better. Our room was spacious and very confortable. And the place has a lot of personality and history. If you want to know the roots of this place you can speak to the landlord, Pete. But more important Pete makes you feel at home, as you are part of the family. The stories, the jokes and the environment in the pub is so cosy that makes you feel you are between friends. And don't look anywhere else for food and drinks. We had dinner in here during the Parmo night, and the food was fantastic, one of the best we had in the area. And this includes the beer and gins. Also, we vouch for the breakfast, the full breakfast is delicious and we couldn't get enough of it. If you are staying the area, please do yourself a favor and stay at the Witching Post Inn. I am glad we chose this place for our staying, and a big thanks to Pete and all the staff for the lovely and welcoming staying
GGuest UserI as a solo elderly traveller was treated like Family and could not fault the friendliness and hospitality.
Attention to every need was met above and beyond the service expected. I would not hesitate to recommend a stay there. Very comfortable stay and the food was excellent .
BBilly YuanI will absolutely recommend all my friends to choose the Victoria when they visit Malham because I cannot tell any negative about the inn. We had a warm welcome and very delicate luggage storage, and lovely farewell as well. Great thanks to every staff members we have met there!
XXielaodiaoThe hotel is very close to the ancient town of York. It takes less than 10 minutes to walk to the ancient city wall, the cathedral and the meat shop street, which is very convenient.
The hotel decoration is also relatively new, the rooms and bathrooms are bright and spacious, much better than most small rooms in British hotels.
Breakfast is a standard English breakfast.
Especially there is a Chinese girl at the front desk, very good, recommend to us how to play, recommended French restaurant lustique, duck legs, hoofs, delicious and cheap, 23 pounds a main dish plus a front dish, the weight is quite large, three people order two enough. In short, very satisfied
GGuest UserNice village pub / old coaching inn with rooms. Very comfortable room with all necessary facilities. Nice evening food and excellent breakfast. Decent range of beers on tap.
BBOHEA single hostel for one person. There is a toilet and a washstand in the house, but there is no bathroom. The public bathroom is clean and has a lot of privacy. However, the staff helped me clean up a room in advance and let me check in early. There is no supermarket nearby. The train station is 25 minutes away. The garden in the hotel is very beautiful. I feel good after opening the window in the morning. Room with 5 single beds
Mmanson_ylThe room was on the third floor, which might be a bit inconvenient if you have a lot of luggage. It wasn't huge but was clean and tidy. The Wi-Fi signal wasn't great; videos would buffer a few times, but sending and receiving emails was fine. It's very close to the town's scenic spots. Of course, the town is quite small, so it seems unnecessary to stay more than one night.
