I recently stayed at the Britannia Hotel in Manchester and wanted to share my thoughts. Location: The location is definitely one of the hotel’s strongest points. It’s super accessible to all forms of transport, whether you’re arriving by train, bus, or tram. It’s right in the city center, so you can easily explore Manchester without much hassle. Parking: The parking arrangement is convenient if you’re driving, especially with free parking between 8 pm and 8 am. Outside of those hours, you’ll need to pay, so keep that in mind if you’re staying for longer stretches. Hotel Condition: This is where the hotel shows its age. The building is very old, and while it has some charm, it could definitely use an upgrade. You can feel the wear and tear in the common areas and some of the rooms. Rooms: The rooms are a mixed bag. The basic rooms are just that—basic. They’re not particularly comfortable, and if you’re picky about where you sleep, you might feel underwhelmed. However, if you go for one of the upgraded rooms, the experience is much better. Those rooms feel cleaner and more inviting. Breakfast: Breakfast is a solid deal at just £9. It’s not a luxury spread, but it gets the job done. You’ll find the usual options for a budget-friendly hotel breakfast. Staff: The staff are a highlight of the hotel. They’re very kind and helpful, making you feel welcome from check-in to check-out. Value for Money: Overall, this is a budget-friendly hotel, so you do get what you pay for. If you’re looking for a no-frills place to stay in a central location and don’t mind the dated vibe, it works. However, if comfort and modern amenities are a priority, you might want to explore other

The lifestyle was super Location: 5/5 The location is fantastic, situated right in the heart of downtown. It’s within walking distance to major attractions, restaurants, and shopping centers. Public transportation is also easily accessible, making it convenient to explore the city. Cleanliness: 4/5 The hotel maintains a high standard of cleanliness. The lobby, common areas, and my room were spotless. Housekeeping was prompt and thorough, ensuring that everything was in order each day. Service: 4/5 The staff at Grandview Hotel were friendly and professional. Check-in and check-out processes were smooth and efficient. The concierge was particularly helpful in providing recommendations and assisting with reservations. Amenities: 4/5 The hotel offers a range of amenities, including a well-equipped fitness center, a relaxing spa, and a rooftop pool with stunning city views. The on-site restaurant serves a delicious breakfast buffet with a variety of options. However, room service was a bit slow during peak hours. Room: 3.5/5 The room was comfortable and well-appointed, with modern furnishings and a cozy bed. The bathroom was spacious and stocked with high-quality toiletries. However, the soundproofing could be improved, as I could occasionally hear noise from the hallway and neighboring rooms. Value for Money: 4/5 Considering its prime location and the quality of services and amenities, the Grandview Hotel offers good value for money. While it may be on the pricier side, the overall experience justifies the cost.

Excellent location, 3 mins walk from train station at Piccadilly. Gym is spacious and a good selection of equipment. Buffet is good, but is expensive at £17.50, one of the most expensive at any hotel I have stayed at. Rooms are spacious and have good air conditioning

Hotel is conveniently located near Manchester airport, but if you are checking in late, traveling with a couple of suitcases, you may want to read on. We called the hotel from Brussels airport to get a basic sense of where to expect the hotel shuttle for pick up; we were told by the reception staff / operator, that one has to make the reservation online and the last pickup was at 10:00. We asked if she could make the reservation since I was already on the phone with her, but she explained it was an outsourced party and we had to do it. Our flight had a scheduled arrival at 09:30, so decided to make the shuttle booking. It was not easy to find a link on their website. Called them again to ask them where I could make the online reservation and was told one just has to cut across the street and the hotel was right there. Which we did. Luckily we had a small carryon with wheels each and it was not raining at that time, although the roads were wet from a recent rain shower. Hotel was functional. Clean/nice. IF you are arriving late, with the elderly or with a couple of large suitcases, please keep this in mind. Also call to understand the hours of operation for the shuttle service. It’s England, so having an umbrella handy is always useful. (As of mid March 2023).

We enjoy staying at this hotel as it is spacious enough for 2 pax and good breakfast provided daily.

Great airport hotel. The room was clean and nice. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The included breakfast was good. The hotel isn’t really within walking distance of the airport, an Uber is £10 but the hotel is much cheaper in comparison to the Radisson inside the airport.

My room was meant to be with king size bed but we got 2 single beds joined together, the single beds had wheels on them so they kept rolling away from each other. It would also move around when you’d try to get into bed. Beds were super high as well, and when they are on wheels it’s a bit tricky to get into one of them especially if you’re short and overweight. Tv was not working, super old so had no smart hub, so no Netflix or any other platforms, you can’t even stream your screen view from your phone. Antenna had no reception so you couldn’t even watch any regular tv programs. Other than that, shower was great and clean, everything else in the room was also clean and the room was pretty spacious which I really liked. Location is great, you have an access to a gym.

Location and value for money are the reason we booked, plus that fact we spent most of the time out of the room. shower room is a good size, though the heat of the water does not need to exceed 40, for the sake of the environment. We had a basement room, bigger that other rooms apparently. yet gap between the end of the bed and the wall is tiny need to walk sideways to spend a penny at night. staff at reception knowledgeable of the surroundings.

I had a great experience during my stay at the hotel. The room was clean, and the service was of a high standard, which made my stay quite pleasant. The only issue I encountered was that the TV in our room was not working. However, the manager was quick to address this problem and offered us an additional hour for check-out as compensation. Overall, despite the minor inconvenience, it was a good experience, and I would consider staying here again.

Lovely comfy bed but pillows need replacing as falling apart There was no hairdryer in our room but this was quickly rectified once we asked for one, We had a lovely chilled stay in our room but would not recommend the in house restaurant. I have left a separate review of that..👎 Reception and cleaning staff who we met around the hotel were super friendly. We were on floor 5 and it was so peaceful. If I hadn’t heard a shower (very quiet) next door I would have thought we were the only ones on that floor. Hotel is just a short walk from everywhere so in a good position… Only criticism is the hotel is so hot and I mean hot. You melt at reception when you check in. Also we couldn’t get the air con to work in our room so it was. Constantly 19 degrees

The hotel is situated super near train station and Manchester airport. Shuttle bus service was good and drivers of the shuttle bus were helpful and humor. Hence, try not to walk to the hotel although it seems in a walking distance. Hotel room is spacious and well lit. Hotel's breakfast is good as well. Hence, it's definitely a good choice for short morning flight.

Booked via Copthorne direct. Decent queue at Check in which is from 2pm, room not ready told to come back at 3. Strangely they wouldn’t take our bags until then? Anyway went out to OT got back at 9:45 tried to get 2 hot drinks from the bar but told machine was off. Room was just ok. Looks like it needs an upgrade. Room was clean enough but the bathroom had several cracked tiles, horrible silicone and an actual chip in the bath that had been ‘painted’. Bed was awful. That mattress had seen some traffic and in desperate need of a changing. Breakfast.. bloody hell where do I start. Waitress at the desk was very pleasant. No cutlery on the table. Several dirty tables waiting to be cleaned away. No plates at the hot food area, then topped up with cold plates once requested. Offer of hot food was poor. Dishes under the lights with very little left. Looked like it had been rattled by a bus tour, this was 8:30. Maids were very pleasant, receptionist upon checking out was also Bert nice. All in all decent staff bang average hotel and amenities. If I had paid £150 for the night then fair enough but it was £300 ..

Had a really nice evening last night, the view was quite pretty from the 4th floor and the room was cosy and had everything we needed. We will always use this hotel as our first place of stay!

I stayed for 2 nights on business. Have stayed previously. The hotel staff are always friendly and helpful the hotel is a great base, clean and comfortable beds. I would recommend the breakfast too. The young man on reception is so helpful and even remembers faces of those who have previously stayed. He is a credit to your hotel, his customer services skills are excellent. Thanks also to all the staff who work in various sectors of the hotel.

The location is very convenient. You can go straight to different places in 5 minutes on the highway. There are no large shopping malls nearby. If you don’t have a car, it will be very inconvenient. The waiters are kind and the place is clean.

Venue has a beautiful ambience from the moment you walk in to the various places you can sneak and relax around the property. Safe surroundings to go for a walk or work out in gym or swim in the pool. Loved it very much will be coming again. Carol and Ray

We travelled with teenage son for this UK trip so we preferred 2 Bedroom apartments, our preference is service apartment. This is a good price for this location, this comfort. We booked for 3 nights stay unfortunately they dont provide housekeeping daily, [ no towel change / no dish washing/ etc ] however you may request for housekeeping daily @£45/day!. The rooms are not big though but comfortable enough for 3 adults. 2 Bedrooms 2 bathrooms 2 queen bed , washer , fridge, kitchen, nespresso machine etc .The location is good 5 mins - 10 mins to food, malls etc. They offer special price for car park opposite Qpark at £18/day. That's good for us cheaper than London which cost us £50/day. Cons: The apartment living room lights are too dim, has widnow but locked and feel stuffy. Pros: we prefer service apartments for long trip with family.

A lovely Travelodge. Rooms are clean not as spacious but worth the money the bathrooms are small but still for what you pay for it’s acceptable. It was clean and you also have coffee/tea kettle in the room. We checked in at 1am and the staff on duty were very helpful, parking is also good and opposite the hotel but you need to give registration and get ur discount code ( we was fortunate as the parking ticket machine was broken so we parked for free) a very pleasant stay and highly recommend!

Stayed for 1 night due to attending a concert at the Ethiad stadium. Had a bit of a mix up with our booking which was my mistake. Called a week before our stay when i realised to recify and the error was promptly sorted as i had booked direct with the hotel. We also had to arrive early due to not being able to check in till after 5pm (time our concert started) and this was happily accommodated too. Our room was ready when we arrived and we were shown where everything was and how to use the keys etc. Room was comfortable, airy and spotless. Comfy bed and pillows too. Breakfast next day, which was included in our rate was delicious and staff were really polite and attentive, gladly brought more coffee when our party of 4 had run out after a late night. Uber was reasonably priced to city centre and took about 15 mins. Ethiad a bit further only 3 stops on the metro. Only niggles were our bathroom door didn't fully close we wish we had booked an extra night!! Will definitely stay again if we return to Manchester. Thanks all!
