The hotel is conveniently located and offers good value for the price. It appears to have been recently renovated. The front desk staff were friendly, welcoming, and professional; they kindly assisted me with ticket booking and provided useful local information. Room cleanliness was better than average. The hotel also offers on-site laundry services at reasonable rates, which was very convenient.
The only downside is that there is no elevator from the lobby to the first floor, so I had to carry my luggage up one floor before accessing the elevator to my room.
The hotel is exceptionally clean, and the room size is suitable for three guests. The overall atmosphere is very pleasant, with a welcoming ambiance throughout the property. The staff are friendly, professional, and highly attentive. The rooftop pool offers a wonderful setting with a great view, and the food is excellent—particularly the dinner served at the rooftop restaurant. Overall, the hotel offers very good value for money considering the quality of service and facilities.
The hotel was overbooked, so we were temporarily moved to another hotel. We returned to our original hotel the next morning, but neither hotel had hot water and the location was inconvenient, although the scenery was beautiful and the service was warm.
Receptionist guy talks a lot!! Especially after a long day of traveling when you just want to check in and be quiet for a bit or relieve yourself in the bathroom. Take that into consideration. They didn’t clean the corridor and stairs till my last day. There were towels, bedsheets and just untidy path to my room. My rooms shower didn’t work so I had to shower across the hall in another room.Receptionist bathroom should always have to issue. The food is good!! The guys try!! The view since it’s uphill is the best!! Better than Kandy view…Close to temple !!
The owner’s own house was changed, Sri Lanka’s local tyrant, two Land Rover. At the top of the mountain, the top floor bar is really view360. The only problem is that the curtains of the roller blinds are almost shaded. Chef is super good! ! ! Chef is super good! ! ! To be honest, the room is just like that. There is not much room for it. Kandy has a good choice for one to two nights. The chef is super, Md can't help but mention it! The pool is good, but it is too cold to get into the water.
This was the cheapest hotel I booked in Sri Lanka, yet it offered the best value for money. It completely exceeded my expectations, providing a fantastic experience.
**Facilities:** The facilities are comprehensive. The lobby boasts high ceilings and is very spacious, with ample comfortable sofas. The restaurant environment is quite pleasant, and there's also a shopping area. Both the spa and gym are excellent; I was particularly impressed with how well-equipped the gym is. The swimming pool is impressively long and very clean.
**Cleanliness:** The cleanliness was good. Despite being an older hotel, it was very well-maintained, hygiene-wise. While some furniture showed its age, it actually added a charming, vintage character to the place.
**Ambiance:** The ambiance is lovely. The hotel's decor and materials feel substantial, featuring a lot of solid wood. The restaurant, pool, and rooms are arranged to create a three-sided scenic view, with beautifully designed, staggered architecture complemented by attractive lighting.
**Service:** The service was very thoughtful and welcoming. Check-in was swift. A friendly staff member escorted us to our room, explaining things along the way and even demonstrating the functions of various areas inside the room. Our luggage was delivered shortly after. All staff members greeted us warmly whenever we encountered them.
My stay at Mount Blue Kandy was a delight from start to finish. The panoramic views—of the lush hills, the Mahaweli River, and Kandy's valleys—are absolutely breathtaking, especially from the infinity pool and floor-to-ceiling windows in the room. The staff were consistently welcoming, attentive, and eager to please, making me feel genuinely valued. The room was spotless and well-appointed, and the breakfast was satisfying and varied. While the steep, narrow road up can be challenging and parking is limited, the sense of serenity and personalized service made it all worth it. Would happily stay again

The overall environment and service were average, nothing particularly amazing. The rooms were quite spacious. The hotel is quite large for the area, but the pool is relatively small, so swimmers shouldn't have too high expectations. There's a supermarket and restaurant downstairs, which is convenient. It gets quite cold at night, so the hotel has an electric fireplace. The Pink Post Office is about a ten-minute walk away, not far at all.

Clean and sanitary, there is always background music playing in the room, you can adjust the volume or turn it off. Breakfast and dinner are ordered, the taste is good, and the service is good. You can see the Grand Hotel next door from the room window, and there are several teak elephants in the hotel lobby. In short, the price-performance ratio is good

MMtngAmaya Hills offers a picturesque panoramic view, making it a perfect retreat for nature lovers. The rooms are spacious, well-maintained, and comfortable, adding to the relaxing ambiance and nice weather.
While the check-in process can be a bit slow, the overall experience is pleasant. A great choice for a peaceful getaway.
ЕЕкатерина ЛанговаяVery good hotel. Located in the center, next to all the sights and shops with local products, souvenirs. Good staff. Clean, comfortable room. We got with a big balcony. Of course recommend!
GGuest UserThe Good
The standout feature of The Coffee Bungalow is undoubtedly its staff, particularly Adrian, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Everyone we encountered was attentive and genuinely warm, making us feel well cared for. The food was another highlight—delicious and thoughtfully prepared. A particularly nice touch was when they packed us a complimentary to-go lunch for our train journey out of Kandy, which was a pleasant and unexpected gesture.
The Bad
The lack of air conditioning was a notable downside, especially given Kandy’s humidity. While the property has a charming colonial feel, the absence of a solid door between the bedroom and bathroom was an odd design choice. Although the toilet and shower do have louvered doors, privacy is somewhat compromised. Another issue was the challenging entry system—we found ourselves locked out one night, which was frustrating and inconvenient.
The Ugly
Unfortunately, the biggest drawback was the ant problem. While some level of bugs is to be expected in a tropical setting, the sheer number of ants, particularly in the bathroom but also in the bedroom, was hard to ignore. It definitely impacted our overall comfort.
Overall, The Coffee Bungalow has a lot of charm and some truly wonderful hospitality, but there are a few quirks and inconveniences that might not suit every traveler. If you’re prepared for a bit of rustic charm and can handle the lack of AC and privacy, the warm service and great food may make up for the downsides.
MMtngSeerock The King’s Domain offers an impressive stay with super spacious rooms, a beautiful outdoor environment, and excellent service. The only downside—though not the hotel’s fault—is the occasional wild peacock screaming at night, which might disrupt light sleepers. Otherwise, a fantastic getaway for nature lovers.
GGuest UserThe owners and employees at this hotel are so, so lovely.
Unfortunately their hotel is not. I almost feel catfished as many of the photos highlighted the bar and pool party atmosphere. This was not the case - the pool was a decent size but in the shade and I actually didn’t see anyone in it. The pool party drinking shots I highly suspect were perhaps not a genuine source.
The same goes for the bar which is massive and attended to by several lovely young, bored gentlemen as both times I popped up (once for dinner) I was the only patron. Again no party atmosphere or even people - which is a shame as it is a big venue.
Fortunately next door was another venue for some decent cocktails and music which saved the boredom somewhat.
The bedroom was a decent size with a small fridge (but didn’t work), the bathroom was small, felt dirty, no hand soap or soap for the shower (apart from leftover previous occupants - and that was gross).
The pressure was poor making showering difficult and there was plaster on the floor from some damage - not cleaned up.
The bed was massive and comfortable with air conditioning and a fan so sleep was good.
Finally, and to repeat, the staff were lovely. Very hospitable and the location is about a ten minute walk to the Sacred Tooth Temple and Kandy Lake. So great location.
Would I stay there again - no. Would I pop in to say hello to the owners and next door for a cocktails - possibly!

GGuest UserThe hotel is located in a good area. Walking distance to Relic of tooth and some tasty restaurants.
Views from balcony in suite room also fabulous.
Drinks and service at the rooftop bar were great. Our waiter Nirmal was very friendly with impeccable service.
Our one complaint is that we had no wifi connection whatsoever in our room or balcony. Asked for this to be resolved four times but to no avail.
SStar Light Star BrightWe chose Hotel Sigiriya due to its proximity to The Lion Rock entrance. Distance from hotel is roughly 8 mins. Please note, it’s advisable to not WALK!
Remember to order a tuk-tuk in advance if you plan to climb Sigiriya and watch the sunrise. We left at 5am and paid a return ride of LKR1,500 for two person. Our tuk-tuk driver Chaminda +94 ********* took good care of us -two 50yrs old ladies who successfully climbed the summit.
Typical of Ceylonese people the hotel staffs were warm and friendly. Shout out to Tharaka (Reception Manager) who always greeted us with a smile and Shehan Restaurant Manager for entertaining us during our 3 day stay.
Our room was a bit dated but clean and comfortable. Good hot shower and acceptable water pleasure. Nice to return to a room that’s been nicely made after 2 hard days of stairs climbing - the Pidurangala (first day) and Sigiriya (second day). Our travel dates were May 31 - Jun 3.
Good variety for breakfast buffer - Sri Lankan and Western. The same applies to dinner buffer too. Overall, nice hotel and yes will stay again.
GGuest UserNestled amidst Sri Lanka's lush jungle landscape, Heritance Kandalama offers an unparalleled retreat that seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings. From the moment we arrived, the reception staff provided a warm and professional welcome, setting the tone for an exceptional stay. The hotel's architectural design, a masterpiece by Geoffrey Bawa, is both innovative and environmentally conscious, blending modern luxury with the beauty of the natural environment. Our room featured panoramic views of the Kandalama Reservoir, allowing us to wake up to the serene sights and sounds of nature. The property boasts three distinct swimming pools, including an infinity pool that appears to merge with the lake, offering breathtaking vistas. Dining at Heritance Kandalama is a culinary delight. The Kanchana Restaurant offers an extensive buffet with a variety of Sri Lankan and international dishes, all while providing panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. Throughout our stay, the staff consistently demonstrated attentiveness and professionalism, ensuring that every aspect of our visit was comfortable and memorable. Heritance Kandalama is more than just a hotel; it's an experience that celebrates the harmony between luxury and nature.
GGuest UserRecommended, the location is very good, opposite the Lion Rock, and there are many food and drink options next to the hotel. The lobby decoration is very distinctive, and the room is not big but comfortable and clean. There are not many types of breakfast, but it is a pleasure to sit in the beautiful lobby to eat. And the price matches!
