The facilities are excellent. It's spotlessly clean and truly the epitome of a traditional Korean hotel. All the staff are incredibly friendly. The fitness center is excellent, and with an indoor pool, you can enjoy a swim at any time of day. The hotel is so spacious that you can even take a leisurely walk around inside.

Lovely Yangon staycation. The room was quiet and comfortable with good wifi, nice bed and a bathtub.
The sauna and jacuzzi were my favourite things. They were clean and well maintained. The swimming pool has phenomenal views, however its freezing cold.
Breakfast spread is varied and delicious. Highly recommend and only 12 USD.
I wouldn't recommend dinner. It was mostly aimed at Chinese and Indian and had no European food.
Service is friendly, fast and efficient. I'll be back for sure

This is a hotel that truly takes care of its guests, without the usual “isms and schisms” that frequent travellers often encounter.
They have a star team led by outstanding HODs, all driven by a desire to exceed expectations. Even when I faced an issue with one of their tenants (Dr. S Deluxe Aesthetics Clinic), the hotel team stepped in immediately— no excuses, only professionalism & results.
What the property may lack in architectural grandeur & lake views, they more than make up for through 5* hospitality.
Special thanks to FOM Nilar, Duty Manager Moe Tun, and F&B Manager Min Thu Mickey.
With such leadership, the best years of Novotel Max Yangon are still ahead of them.

The best value for money in a downtown hotel in the heart of Yangon city. Safe, impeccable service, easy & early check-in given, clean, comfortable beds, hot water bath tubs, a good breakfast with variety and of course the staff; welcoming & hard-working.
Highly recommended! Affordable prices, great service and it's one of the 3 earth-quake proof hotels in the whole of Yangon. Select The Royal Park Yangon ~ you will be delighted with this choice of stay in a hotel in Yangon.
The only problem I faced was 1 of the 6 nights I booked online was not registered with the hotel on Trip
.com. That was rather strange, since I had a confirmed & paid document in black & white.
Would stay again. Great location, close to area famous landmark by walking distance. Room need sound proof due to noise from street and near by park especially on morning. Also room key needed to be updated. Like old style bulk key chain back in the 80's . Great breakfast buffet and enjoy it. Staff are very attentive and helpful. Overall, very pleased with stay.
I stayed at Melia with my family and from check in to check out we had a fantastic stay. Most of the staff were really obliging and helpful with a special note to Coe and her team in the Market Restaurant who ensured our breakfasts meals were always comfortable and our needs catered for. The hotel is situated near the picturesque Inya Lake and we had a Lake view room which made the morning wake up extra special. Melia is also next door to the Myanmar Plaza mall where there are plenty of shops, including a super market and the top floor has an extensive food court. Though if you wished to stay and eat at the hotel there are a number of restaurants in the hotel serving outstanding dishes. For the amenities there are a number of bars and a lounge on the top floor - though this is only available to those who have a specific room. During our stay we also made use of the swimming pool and the gym. Both very clean and well maintained with the gym having a good variety of equipment and fresh towels and water to hand. Overall it was a very pleasant and enjoyable stay and should we return to Yangon, Melia is a place we would certainly consider staying at again.
Location of the property is opposite to Myanmar Plaza shopping mall. It would be great if the size gate of the property could open for guests to walk a shorter distance to the mall.
Service staffs were very friendly, especially Lenna who was very efficient during the check-out process and responded professionally to queries.
Breakfast at D’Cusine was average needs improvement. There is also a Japanese Restaurant and a Korean restaurant for dining within the property.
Swimming pool is excellent especially for family with kids.
Club at basement played good music. Take note of age group and dress code requirements.
Overall highly satisfied with the stay at this property.
Old luxury hotel - resort style big pool, great breakfast, spacious rooms. They have to renovate it, but it still very nice.
Ah, by the way. Its hard to find some restaurants nearby - be prepared for taxi for any case. But they have 24h convenient store on first floor.
And - its very strange for the hotel of this level - there was a situation with exec lounge. It was in my booking but they refuse to give me access: ”It was an error in room description”. Guys, its really not my trouble, right? I wasnt in the mood for hard negotiations, so... let carma decide ))) And they have no local shuttle bus (yes, there is an error on hotel site). Heh )))

GGary Joseph HayesReview: The Governor’s Residence, Yangon
The Governor’s Residence remains one of Yangon’s most atmospheric and elegant hotels, combining colonial charm with modern comfort. Nestled in a quiet embassy district, the restored teak mansion, once the home of a British colonial governor, immediately impresses with its graceful architecture and tranquil gardens. Approaching through leafy pathways and lotus ponds, guests are welcomed into an oasis that feels far removed from the bustle of downtown Yangon.
Rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, featuring polished teak floors, four-poster beds, and traditional Burmese textiles that reflect the building’s heritage. Balconies overlook either the lush gardens or the inviting fan-shaped swimming pool, creating a sense of calm retreat. The service is consistently warm, professional, and attentive without being intrusive, with staff eager to share local knowledge and assist with arrangements.
Dining is a highlight. The open-air restaurant offers refined Burmese and international dishes, prepared with fresh ingredients and presented with flair. Breakfast under the wide verandas, with tropical birdsong in the background, is especially memorable. Afternoon cocktails by the pool or an evening meal by candlelight evoke the romantic grandeur of a bygone era.
What sets the Governor’s Residence apart is its atmosphere: it is not simply a hotel but a living reminder of Yangon’s colonial past, reimagined with comfort and grace. Whether visiting on business or leisure, guests leave with a sense of serenity and timeless elegance. For those seeking a blend of history, luxury, and authentic Burmese hospitality, this residence is an exceptional choice.

TTOMOYUKI YANOThe smiles of the staff are impressive. It's a great location, so I think it would be better if they maintained the air conditioning and other facilities a little more hygienically.
MM232429****A perfect hotel boasting luxurious decor and meticulously appointed rooms. The service experience is outstanding, and the location is absolutely prime. It features a state-of-the-art gym and an exclusive private pool. Best of all, the pricing is fantastic – truly something everyone will appreciate.
