A hotel overlooking the mountains. Opened in August 2024. The rooms and all the facilities are fresh!
For those who don't mind the high room rate, I recommend you to stay in the Canyon View room. You won't regret it!
It's still quite cold on the mountain, up to about 15 degrees, and you can see many people wearing thin down jackets.
Not far from the hotel is the Anatara Resort Hotel, which has a Diana's Point, where Princess Diana of the United Kingdom and Prince Charles (now the King) have been. You can walk or drive there. It's free. We went to see the sunset.
Note that you need to drive a 4x4 or AWD vehicle to go up the mountain. There is a police checkpoint at the intersection at the bottom of the mountain. Vehicles that do not meet the requirements must stop at the checkpoint and be sent up the mountain by qualified vehicles. You need to pay, but I don't know how much it is.
If you have the conditions, it is recommended to rent an all-wheel drive car in Oman to avoid trouble. In addition to going up the mountain, sometimes the map navigation leads to the wild road, and you can also drive an all-wheel drive car at this time.
We recently stayed at this hotel and were truly impressed by nearly every aspect of our visit. The rooms were spotless and spacious, the amenities were excellent, and the service from the staff was warm and welcoming throughout. The hotel’s location is ideal, and we especially appreciated the thoughtful details that made our stay comfortable and enjoyable.
However, we did experience a significant issue during our stay that affected our overall comfort. We had booked a deluxe room, which had a connecting door to another deluxe room, Unfortunately, the door was not soundproof, and on one of the nights, guests in the adjacent room were extremely loud throughout the night. The noise came straight through the connecting door, and it was so disruptive that my family and I barely slept.
What made the situation more difficult was how it was handled. We reported the problem to the hotel, but instead of addressing the disturbance at its source, we were asked to move to another room — despite not being at fault. This created unnecessary inconvenience and discomfort for us, especially with children.
Additionally, I would strongly recommend that the hotel ensures these doors are properly locked by default, as we noticed they could be easily opened, which can be dangerous when children are present.
In summary, while the hotel truly excels in quality, service, and experience overall, I hope management seriously considers improving sound insulation between connected rooms and revising their approach to conflict resolution to ensure all guests enjoy a restful stay.
Stepping into Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar, I am immediately transported into a place of relaxation and it’s almost when time has stood still.
No doubt, the service standards has been from start to finish extremely impeccable. I am very amazed that the staff are all very polite and very friendly and forthcoming. In particular, I am very impressed with Cristina, a staff from Bella Vista Italian Restaurant. Cristina has been so friendly and she has managed to make us feel at home even only with just a dinner affair.
The attention to details of provided is mind blowing and I so impressed by the breakfast buffet spread that I am spoilt for choices.
Notwithstanding, the view is absolutely breathtaking and each time I stand at the viewpoints of the hotel I am always amazed at he grandeur of the canyons that the hotel overlooks. This place is a must visit for anyone who wants luxurious living , glorious view sand excellent service standards.
The hotel is very close to the old town, the breakfast is good, the buffet dinner is not expensive, and the dishes are very good. Hotel service facilities are average, but it is still good in the local area. The overall price of the hotel is high.

The Resort was a very pleasant stay and an excellent stopover on our way to NIZWA.
Host gave us a tour and showed us around the private zoo that he owns and he is an extremely friendly person.
If returning to same area, I would definitely stay again at his place and highly recommend this Resort.

MMelisande PeytregnetA magnificent stay at The View. It’s definitely an adventure to get to the hotel through bumpy roads however the location is absolutely breathtaking. For those looking for sublime views after a day of canyoning and adventuring around Jebel Shams. You will not regret your stay. The hotel itself is very well equipped and the food options are diverse especially in the evening when a buffet is available. The staff is so welcoming and helpful, we appreciate especially Richard’s (Manager) help throughout our stay. On top of it all, if you don’t mind a cold swim - one of the most beautiful pools I have ever seen !

GGuest UserA little far from the city, but the hotel is still big. It is a historical hotel. It is unnecessary to compare it with international stars. The room is spacious. The bed is a little small. The other environment is actually very beautiful. It is a good choice in the local area.

GGuest UserThis hotel should be the best hotel I have stayed in Oman. The room is very big and the view is not ordinary. The hotel built on the edge of the cliff, you can watch the sunrise and sunset, very beautiful. The breakfast was also very good, and the service staff were very nice and helpful. Regarding the service of the hotel, the view is impeccable. The only thing to note is: if you are driving by yourself, you must drive a four-wheel drive up the mountain, otherwise the police at the checkpoint at the bottom of the mountain will not let you go up the mountain. Just before I went up the mountain, I went to the car rental company to re-rent a four-wheel drive up the mountain (the local four-wheel drive rents about 30 to 50 riyals a day). If you don’t want to rent a car and drive by yourself, you can make an appointment with the hotel 48 hours in advance and let the hotel arrange a car to pick you up at the foot of the mountain, but the cost is very high, and the round-trip fare is 130 riyals. It's also worth mentioning that if you don't want to eat the hotel's dinner, you have to bring food up there, and you basically can't find a place to buy food after you go up. If you choose to dine at the hotel, basically the cheapest is about 15 riyals per person.
