My stay at Xitang Yuyaxuan's 180-degree river view room was absolutely perfect, completely fulfilling all my imaginings of a Jiangnan water town.
The room's floor-to-ceiling windows and balcony framed the misty promenade and the gurgling river into a living painting. I slept beside the water, watching the morning mist drift over the stone bridges and black-awning boats cut through the dawn light. In the evening, I admired the setting sun painting the corridor roofs red and lanterns gradually illuminating like stars – truly ”living within the scenery.”
The guest room itself was also incredibly charming, cleverly converted from an ancient Ming and Qing dynasty residence. The interior retained the elegant antiquity of wooden beams and carved windows, yet was equipped with modern comforts, showcasing a strong sense of design. Lying on the soft bed, with the gentle sound of sculling oars in the background, even my dreams were imbued with the warmth of the water town.
This is undoubtedly an excellent place to experience the essence of Xitang, and I highly recommend it to every traveler seeking tranquility and beautiful views.

You truly understand what a five-star hotel experience should be like only after staying in a five-star hotel in Zhejiang.
In short: Absolutely recommend it! If you're coming to Shaoxing, you *must* stay at the Shaoxing Hotel at least once!
**Ambiance**: As Shaoxing's traditional state guesthouse, it's beautiful and grand, a tranquil oasis tucked away at a bustling street corner. From the moment you drive into the hotel lobby, there's just one feeling – this money was well spent.
**Facilities**: We booked a loft in Building 8, which is perfect for traveling with parents. Three adults in one family don't need to book two rooms; you can be together while still maintaining relatively independent spaces. The independent bathroom upstairs was a pleasant surprise.
**Parking**: Although the hotel is large, there's ample parking, thoughtfully accommodating the needs of each building. Both ground-level and underground parking are available in front of Building 8, complete with charging piles. You can park your car and take the elevator directly upstairs, completely avoiding the hassle of dragging luggage through the massive hotel.
**Service**: It boasts the kind of service you'd expect from a five-star hotel. From the moment our car pulled up to the lobby, someone was there to guide us, help with luggage, and assist with check-in. The shuttle bus continuously transports guests between the various buildings, which is very convenient. Especially in the morning, as soon as you step downstairs, there are staff members directing you to the breakfast area, and the shuttle bus is already waiting. In short, any time I felt the need for service, it was readily provided – excellent!
**Breakfast**: I *must* commend the breakfast! In an era where pre-made dishes are everywhere, it's truly rare to find such a rich and varied breakfast that clearly isn't pre-made! Many specialty pastries are being freshly prepared by chefs right before your eyes. The 68 RMB per person buffet breakfast is highly recommended! Also, during holidays, it can get crowded, but several hotel managers were on-site, guiding guests to tables, instructing servers to clear tables promptly, and responding to various customer requests. I haven't seen this level of service in a long time; it felt very reassuring and comfortable.
**Final Thoughts**: In recent years, while my parents are still active, I've been taking them to explore different cities across the country. Along the way, I've had disappointing experiences at various so-called ”old-brand five-star” hotels, which made me distrustful of five-star establishments, preferring instead to choose Huazhu or Atour. This time, our New Year's Day trip was primarily for leisure, and we chose Shaoxing Hotel because we wanted a loft-style room. It turned out to be the highlight of our entire trip. The hotel's配套 seasonal Cantonese restaurant is also delicious and equally recommended!

We stayed on the 18th floor, so the views were great! The room itself was quite spacious, though the facilities felt a bit basic. A minor inconvenience was that only one side of the bed had an electrical outlet. On the bright side, the staff were incredibly friendly and the hotel lobby had a lovely, artistic design that made you feel right at home. Plus, it's really close to the canal, which is perfect for a nice stroll.

This hotel truly exceeded my expectations for this trip! From the moment we walked in, the front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Check-in was quick, and they proactively explained the hotel's facilities and their locations, which made us feel very comfortable.
The room's cleanliness was exceptional. The bedsheets and duvet were spotless and neatly made, the floors and tabletops were pristine, and there were no unpleasant odors in the bathroom's vanity or shower area. The attention to detail was impressive. The room had great natural light and good ventilation, so it never felt stuffy. The bed was just the right firmness, and the pillow height was perfect, ensuring a very peaceful night's sleep.
The hotel's location is very convenient; it's just a few minutes' walk to the nearby commercial street, making dining and shopping incredibly easy. While the breakfast selection wasn't huge, it offered a balanced mix of meat and vegetables, with hot dishes, porridge, and pastries all available, and it tasted deliciously home-style.
Even during check-out, the staff were very thoughtful. The entire stay was incredibly smooth, and it offered great value for money. Next time I visit this city, I will definitely choose this hotel again!

I had a great stay at the Sheraton in Huzhou, which sits right on the beautiful Taihu Lake. The hotel itself is a major attraction, and every room comes with amazing views and excellent facilities. The villas are especially impressive, each one has its own hot spring and a private swimming pool, which makes the experience even more relaxing. The hot spring area at the hotel is super comfortable, and the night light show is absolutely spectacular. Walking around the lake and around the hotel feels peaceful and enjoyable. A special thanks to Ms. Lucy Liu from the front office. She speaks good English and acted almost like a personal butler during my stay. She helped with everything, planning the hot spring visit, suggesting nearby boating options, and offering support whenever needed. Her kindness really made my stay even better. This hotel is great for solo travelers, couples, and families. Highly recommended!

This hotel boasts an excellent location and environment, perfect for family trips with seniors and children. We stayed for two days over the weekend, and there was no need to venture out; we simply ate, lived, and explored within the hotel's beautiful grounds. I've previously stayed at hotels on three sides of West Lake, including the West Lake State Guesthouse, but I won't choose this area again. The transportation access is quite inconvenient. Most rooms likely don't offer lake views, though it's not a far walk to the lakeside. The hotel facilities are decent and well-maintained, with all the essentials. The toiletries are Guerlain. In my room, the toilet lid would cover the flush button when lifted, which was quite annoying. The room's door lock was also temperamental; the deadbolt wouldn't engage. I'm unsure if the air conditioning is centrally controlled, as I could only adjust the fan speed, which led to me sweating indoors in the middle of winter, unable to even use the duvet. Because the room was so hot, there were also mosquitoes in winter, more than one buzzing around. The hotel service was convenient, with golf carts available for transport around the grounds. The room cleaning was also well done. However, it seemed they were reluctant to provide extra slippers during a multi-day stay, which wasn't ideal. We arrived on Sunday morning, and the hotel was extremely busy. They wouldn't allow early check-in, and we waited a long time. Even after an expensive and unappetizing lunch at the hotel's Peony Pavilion, we still couldn't check in. The customer service representative who assisted me added me on WeChat but then didn't reply to messages or answer calls, citing busyness. I then wondered, why add on WeChat if they're not going to respond? Is it just for a good review? Are customer needs and privacy not important? When booking this hotel, several services were bundled, such as travel photography, and upon arrival, we received several vouchers for the buffet dinner, café, and lunch. In reality, the hotel's dining is mediocre and primarily expensive. If you want to savor Hangzhou's local cuisine, I suggest finding an old reputable restaurant outside. The hotel also offers boat tours starting at 10 AM, which are ridiculously expensive; over 200 yuan plus a service charge, and require a reservation, while the most luxurious painted boats at the lakeside dock only cost a few dozen yuan. There are also afternoon garden tours and options like ordering fruit pillows. I recommend the hotel reduce these scattered extra activities and offer more competitive pricing!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Giraffe Manor Hotel and truly enjoyed every moment. From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded our expectations.
The hotel is beautifully located in nature, very peaceful and scenic. Waking up surrounded by bamboo forest and seeing giraffes so close was a unique and unforgettable experience. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with great attention to detail.
The service deserves special praise. The staff were extremely kind, attentive, and always ready to help. We would especially like to thank the manager, Xiao Wang, for his professionalism, care, and warm attitude. He made sure everything was perfect and that we felt safe and well taken care of during our stay.
Amenities were excellent, the atmosphere was relaxing, and the overall experience felt truly special. This is a place that creates beautiful memories, not just a hotel stay.
We highly recommend Giraffe Manor Hotel to anyone looking for a unique, high-quality, and heart-warming experience. We would love to come back again.

I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve visited Hangzhou, but this was my first stay at the Hangzhou National Guest House. Years ago, I dined at the Ziwei Restaurant and was already impressed by the hotel's gardens. The fact that the hotel exclusively boasts such a large expanse of stunning West Lake scenery alone makes the room rate worthwhile. This time, my husband and I were on a leisure trip, and we deliberately chose to travel on a Monday to avoid the crowds. The front desk attendant, a sweet-looking young lady, proactively upgraded our room, which was a delightful surprise. We originally planned to stay for just two days but ended up extending our stay for another two nights. Every morning, we’d wander through the gardens, and everywhere we looked was a postcard-perfect view. Even in winter, it was still a feast for the eyes. The hotel also offers travel photography services, and Yangzi, our photographer from Xiaowan Travel Photography, was very experienced, making the shooting process relaxed and enjoyable. We even visited the spots where Chairman Mao famously watched the snow and studied English, connecting with a great historical figure across time and space, which added even more charm to our trip. This journey left us with wonderful memories. Hangzhou, see you next time!

The staff came to pick up our huge luggages even before we stepped out of the car! 😂 So so so helpful! They don’t have an elevator but, rest assured cause they’ll help you with everything! You wouldn’t need to do anything. The place is also very close to 西栅, the lady even explained to me where to go and some useful tips.
The room is perfect! Coziest. The shower? Perfect. And the toilet has bidet! 😆
Extra: I love how they didn’t ask me to leave a review upon check out, of which I’ve been asked to do over the past few days by other hotels. Hence, it’s a solid 10/10. Recommended!

I chose the InterContinental Hotel, which is super close to the Hangzhou Grand Theatre, for a performance there. The hotel exterior looks very grand, especially the side facing the Hangzhou Grand Theatre, which is beautiful both day and night. The hotel interior resembles a large cruise ship. The rooms are spacious, and you can see the Qiantang River from the window. It's also a short walk to the City Balcony by the river. Perhaps because the hotel has been open for over a decade, some facilities are showing their age, particularly the tissue box, which had some chipped paint. The hotel breakfast offers a wide variety of choices and tastes good. The staff are warm and attentive; they even contacted me in advance to ask about my needs before check-in.

AAnonymous UserThe room is clean and tidy. There are many books to read in the lobby. There are also free Hanfu costumes to borrow for taking photos. There are Tremella soup and tea eggs for midnight snacks in the evening. Parking is convenient. The surrounding subway is not very convenient. There is a villa garden next to it where you can take a walk and drink tea and coffee.
__WeChat54958****Before arriving, I read quite a few reviews and honestly had some concerns. I had initially planned to book two rooms, but due to a mix-up and booking late, I only managed to secure one. With a 'what-the-heck' attitude, I called, and Ms. Shao Linfang from the reservations department answered. She said she'd help me confirm. Although I couldn't get the second room, she was incredibly responsive, upgraded my existing room, and even arranged for a fruit platter. She also proactively asked if I needed children's amenities, which were prepared and ready in the room, along with a mini-bar. It truly lives up to its reputation as a seasoned five-star hotel; the overall service standard is consistently excellent. Crucially, the hotel's location is superb. Wulin Night Market is right downstairs, and West Lake is just a 10-minute walk away. This was incredibly convenient, especially when West Lake's traffic restrictions made it impossible to get a taxi. The buffet breakfast also offered a good variety. I was very satisfied with the accommodation on this trip. A special thanks to Ms. Shao!
__WeChat41221****My expectations were fully met, and the hotel lived up to the hype. The only minor drawback is that check-in isn't until 3:30 PM (though earlier check-in is possible if rooms are available), but this hotel is just incredibly popular.
The hotel boasts numerous rooms with an exceptionally high occupancy rate and a variety of room types. Stepping inside, there's a magical sense of calm. For the same price, you might only get a standard room in Shanghai, but here we enjoyed a lake view suite.
The service was also top-notch; my family felt right at home, praising the hospitality. It was money well spent.
Even during the holiday, the swimming pool and hot spring weren't overcrowded, which speaks to excellent management, as reservations are required. Since it's winter, swimming was a bit chilly. However, there's also a sizable, slightly warmer children's pool area, which is absolutely fantastic.
GGuest UserOur stay at Naked Stables was absolutely wonderful and truly memorable for our whole family. We travelled as a family of six, including two elderly members and two kids, and the resort was perfect for all ages.
There were plenty of engaging activities to keep everyone happy — from fishing, pottery, and crafts to outdoor experiences. The kids especially loved the horse riding and grooming sessions, which were thoughtfully organised and very safe.
We stayed in a three-bedroom villa, which was luxurious, spacious, and extremely comfortable. Each bedroom having its own bathtub was such a treat. The villa was beautifully decorated, and we were deeply touched by the thoughtful surprise of decorations and cakes arranged for our son’s birthday — a gesture that made our stay extra special.
Getting around the resort was effortless, as the buggy service promptly picked us up from the villa whenever we needed. We also loved having a lovely hiking trail right outside our villa, perfect for a peaceful morning.
Breakfast was delicious with a great variety, and the noodle station was a definite highlight for us. A special mention goes to Chuan Chuan the resident dog— friendly, gentle, and absolutely adored by our kids.
Every detail reflected care and thoughtfulness, making our stay both relaxing and joyful. We left with beautiful memories and cannot wait to return to Naked Stables again. Highly recommended for families looking for comfort, nature, and meaningful experiences.

LLuozhizhuFirst off, the location is absolutely superb. It's just a few subway stops from Hangzhou East Station to Fengqi Road, and the hotel is a short walk from the exit. From the hotel, you can turn into Hai'er Lane, walk through Wulin Night Market, and you're right at the West Lake's Bai Causeway. Honestly, the convenience of these two things combined is invaluable for city walking.
Secondly, the service staff, especially the ladies, were incredibly nice! When I checked in, because I'm so easy-going and 'don't mind anything,' they not only upgraded my room but also changed my reservation for 'two breakfasts for two nights' to one breakfast per day. The welcome fruit and snacks were also a nice touch, presented in a small paper bag with 'Hangzhou' printed on it. The breakfast was delicious too, with a vibrant, local city feel.
Finally, the cleanliness was exceptional. It's an old-school hotel with modern, meticulous service, and the blend of classic and contemporary creates a wonderful experience. The mattress was very comfortable. The feeling of old-fashioned charm combined with cleanliness was an absolute delight for the mind!
__M1303350****The hotel's location is excellent, and the entire decor has a Republican China-era style, which is very elegant and full of atmosphere. The hotel offers a buffet breakfast with a good variety of options. The service is exceptional; they contacted us in advance, provided a free room upgrade, offered shuttle service to and from the parking lot, and waived the parking fee. Makabaka was also very thoughtful and attentive, giving us guidance on touring the scenic area. Overall, we felt very much at home, and I'd definitely recommend it to friends.

This might be one of the hotels with the most breathtaking views I've ever stayed in! Our room offered an unparalleled vista – truly a 'living painting' the moment you open the window. From the moment we drove through the hotel gates, the meticulous and thoughtful service was evident; staff guided us all the way, so we never worried about getting lost. After parking, the hotel provided dedicated internal shuttles for pick-up and drop-off, making it completely hassle-free and elevating the whole experience.
Waking up in the morning, gently drawing back the curtains, and watching the mist drift through the mountains, changing with the light – it was truly a sight so beautiful I couldn't tear my eyes away 🤩. Even doing nothing but lying in the room and soaking in the view brought immense joy.
🍴 **Dining Experience**
The cliffside restaurant is an absolute must-visit! Perched right on the edge of the cliff, it features floor-to-ceiling windows that offer panoramic views of the entire valley the moment you sit down. We were incredibly fortunate to secure a table with the best view; the expansive vista was simply stunning. Eating breakfast while watching the clouds and mist dance through the valley was profoundly therapeutic.
Breakfast offered a rich and diverse selection, a perfect blend of Chinese and Western options, ensuring you'd never get tired of it. I must especially commend the rice noodles – with three distinct toppings, each bursting with fresh, savory flavor that left me craving more! I ordered them two days in a row; the more I ate, the more I loved them 😋.
😄 **Overall Experience**
If you're looking for a romantic getaway for an anniversary, or a relaxing weekend road trip within the Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai region, this place is absolutely perfect! There's no need to meticulously plan an itinerary; the hotel itself is a 'self-contained holiday haven'.
The complimentary activities alone are enough to fill a day: archery, billiards, craft-making... each one was engaging and fun. The paid activities were also reasonably priced. We tried both pottery and the spa, and highly recommend them. The entire experience was both relaxing and engaging, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves and truly 'slow down and savor the moment'.
✨ **Special Thanks**
**Butler Xiao Chen**: The person who touched me the most throughout our stay! Not only were they professional and efficient, perfectly arranging all our small requests, but they were also incredibly thoughtful, often anticipating details we hadn't even considered. For instance, reminders for shuttle times, activity bookings, and little surprises in the room... they truly elevated the joy of our wedding anniversary trip. It genuinely felt less like staying at a hotel and more like being cared for by an old friend – incredibly heartwarming 💖.
**Spa Therapist Sijia Celia**: Her professional and skillful techniques combined with gentle service truly healed my soul and left me completely relaxed. Afterwards, I felt light in body and mind, and utterly refreshed.
**Craft Class Teachers Dina & Fern**: They were incredibly patient while guiding us through making fragrance sachets, providing step-by-step instructions and even encouraging us to add our own creative touches. The final products were not only beautiful but also imbued with wonderful memories.
**Pottery & Painting Instructor Deng Chensi Sam**: Very professional, explained everything in detail, and gave us lots of inspiration and suggestions. He even thoughtfully added us on WeChat so we could track the firing and delivery progress of our pieces at any time. He truly embodies 'delivering peace of mind'!
**Archery Instructor 🏹**: He was absolutely fantastic! His instruction was very professional, and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. We even participated in an archery competition and surprisingly won a prize! He called immediately to inform us and personally delivered the prize to our room. That moment truly warmed our hearts~

MM300526****I was a bit surprised by the price at first, and curious to see what kind of service I'd get for it!
1: We arrived at 1 AM, and the owner, who usually finishes at 10:30 PM, waited up for us until 1 AM, and even helped us carry our luggage upstairs!
2: Whenever the owner sees you coming in or going out, they'll open the door for you! Service is top-notch.
3: If you want to eat breakfast in your room, that's fine too; the owner will even bring it up for you! And the breakfast is incredibly generous!
4: The whole room was very clean and hygienic, and we had a very comfortable stay. The underfloor heating was just turned on a bit too early, haha. It was too hot at night, and we had to turn it off before we could sleep.
5: There are two very cute cats that aren't afraid of people.
6: Also, I drove here, and parking fees in this area are very expensive. The owner waived the parking fee for me, which saved me over 200 yuan. I almost felt bad about it!
In short, it was an excellent value! I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit West Lake.

GGuest UserBring your baby to Shaoxing, the hotel upgraded our room for one day for free. Welcome fruit, dessert every day, butler service is very timely. Especially this housekeeper Xiao Ni. The hotel's Chinese restaurant for dinner is not expensive, there is a small zoo and horse riding 😀. The lawn is very large and suitable for outdoor. The hotel is very large, and there are many places such as the wine cellar that I don't have time to visit because I have a baby. I will come again next time.
GGuest UserThe B&B is very clean and cozy, close to Jiuxi Yanshu, and the air is very fresh. The housekeeper service details are in place. After a day of playing, I checked in and saw that the housekeeper helped to turn on the heating in advance and the rich welcome fruits were very healing. The surrounding scenery and air are also great! The freshly ground soy milk for breakfast is very rich ~ I will come again next time.
