Romantic Hotels in Lazio, Italy

"Hotel Caravel is a few blocks away from Stazione Garbatella. The staff speak Spanish, English, and Italian (probably other languages as well). I had the pleasure to stay at Caravel for seven days with my father and they were very accommodating to his needs (such as keeping his laptop safe and providing him with an electric kettle for a night time cup of tea). They also have electric plug adaptors, and they offer third party laundry services. The hotel has accessible ramps, and the venue has a clothes store, bar, breakfast bar and restaurant. The breakfast buffet is very varied with some food items made in-house. I hope I get to stay with them next time I visit Rome. My favorite breakfast (which I had almost every day) is seen in this picture."

"Facilities: The hotel is quite spacious with excellent, brand-new facilities. The complimentary water and free-flowing minibar were a huge plus. Hygiene: Spotless. Service: Very poor and utterly disappointing!! Check-in was fine, but the check-out process was a nightmare. While we were in line to check out, a guest at the check-in counter was arguing loudly with the front desk, and the lobby manager merely stood by watching. This led to check-in guests constantly cutting into our queue, with absolutely no staff member bothering to maintain order. One of the line-cutters even engaged in a casual chat with the front desk for nearly twenty minutes. When another staff member finally appeared, they immediately went to assist another guest who had just approached with their luggage, completely ignoring the chaotic lines. Our patience eventually wore thin! The entire check-out took about half an hour, and it was only after we became visibly frustrated that the front desk finally processed our departure."

"The bathroom was spacious, and the service was excellent; they even helped us split the king-size bed into two separate beds. The overall space was remarkably large for a European hotel, and it was very clean. The location was super convenient for getting around, and the air conditioning worked well – a big plus!"

"We was pleasantly surprised as we were on the 2nd floor and had read a few adverse reviewers and about these room, we did ask for upgrade at checked and found baggage service in and receptionist said to look at room first and if we weren’t happy to ring down and she would change it, but we found the room very clean and adequate with an exceptionally large bed, air con was at right temperature plus there were tea and coffee making facilities which was a plus, the only thing wrong was the sink plug didn’t hold water, but would never dream of complaining about water that. We ate in the restaurant and found the food excellent as was the breakfast which was included we"

"This hotel really looked after me from the moment I arrived until the day I left. The staff were incredibly kind, professional, and always ready to help with anything I needed. They made me feel comfortable and welcome at all times, which made my stay even more enjoyable. The customer service was excellent, and the overall atmosphere of the hotel was relaxing and pleasant. Everything was well organised, clean, and high quality. I truly appreciated the attention to detail and the positive energy of the team. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great experience and outstanding service. I would definitely stay here again!"

"It was okay. The location was good, and given that Switzerland is generally expensive, the price wasn't too bad. There was no air conditioning, but the temperature at night was fine. Overall, it was decent. Switzerland is pricey anyway. They offer a free public transport pass, which the staff didn't explicitly mention, but luckily I overheard it."

"We were very pleased with the hotel and stayed there at both the beginning and end of our trip to Italy. We rented a car at the airport and parked it right in front of the hotel's door in a private courtyard. That was very convenient. I believe they charged us about 35 Euros each night for that perk. The hotel was luxurious, and the staff were very accommodating and pleasant. They had someone carry our bags to and from our room during check-in and check-out. Everything in the large room worked; it was clean, and there was a safe to store your valuables. As Americans, a few reminders or unexpected things to note. You'll need a power adapter (easily purchased on Amazon) and, unless you bring a voltage converter, make sure any appliances (CPAP, travel steamer/iron, etc) are compatible with both 110V and 220/230V. We didn't find washcloths in any of the hotels in Italy, so we just used hand towels in the shower. The shower at this hotel (both rooms) was a bath/shower combination. There was no shower curtain or door, only a small partition near the removable shower head to keep the water from splashing everywhere, which it basically did. While it is a beautiful historic building, there are a couple of elevators at this hotel, so you don't need to lug your stuff up a bunch of stairs. The room key is enormous and they only give you one. We kept ours in the car whenever we left the hotel so we wouldn't carry it around. Even though we had a car, we found it more convenient to leave it at the hotel and take an Uber to Vatican City rather than walk more than a mile each way, which we also did twice. The area surrounding the hotel was historic and lots of fun. Plenty of places to shop and eat. The breakfast buffet at the hotel each morning was also superb. Plenty of hot and cold items to fill you up before trekking out. That's about it. Don't forget to check out the view from the rooftop at the hotel. Have a great time in Rome!"

"The hotel is located in the embassy district with guards at the intersections, which made us feel very safe. However, it's a bit of a walk from Termini, not particularly close. The room was on the smaller side. It's a good option if the price is right, but I wouldn't recommend it if it's too expensive. The service attitude was good, and they have 24-hour front desk service."

"It's a 40-minute drive from Florence city center, so it's really only suitable for those with a car. The hotel exceeded my expectations a bit; the restaurant and service were both excellent. I'd definitely consider staying here again on my next visit!"
