I booked this hotel mainly for the view, and it definitely delivered. The west-facing room looks directly out onto the Ferris wheel, making it feel like a living painting from the window. The small balcony was perfect for fresh air and enjoying the scenery.
The hotel is located within Meriken Park, offering a quiet escape while still being in the heart of Kobe. There's a free shuttle bus service to and from Sannomiya Station, and you can explore the park right outside the hotel. For shopping at Daimaru and other areas, it's about a 1 to 1.5 km walk through the park, or you can take the free shuttle bus for flexible travel.
As a long-standing landmark, the hotel has been around for years. While it has undergone renovations, the lobby and interior still retain a sense of history and age. The basic services and facilities are all fine, but nothing particularly stands out.
Considering its location and view, the weekday prices offer good value for money. However, weekend prices are a bit high, so staying during off-peak times would be more economical.
A family of three, we were extremely happy with this hotel during our trip to Japan 🏨. The public bath was great, and not too crowded. But the absolute highlight was breakfast – the service was top-notch and the selection was amazing. We got to try all sorts of local specialties, and the bread was incredibly delicious. You could tell they put a lot of effort into making breakfast special. The room was spacious enough to open two suitcases, which was a bonus, and it was quiet with good soundproofing. Plus, it's really close to Ikuta Shrine ⛩️.
I stayed here for three nights in July 2024, and when I came back to Kobe, I naturally chose the same hotel. This time, the room was significantly larger than the previous one of the same type. The bed was still quite firm, which is a real plus for anyone with back issues. I slept soundly, as always. There's a Don Quijote right outside the door, and the famous Ikuta Shrine is just a few hundred meters away. Sannomiya Station is also only about a 7-8 minute walk. The area around the hotel is very lively, with all sorts of small restaurants and shops. The disposable amenities provided by the front desk were excellent, especially the hair ties, which my daughter particularly approved of.
The room is clean, parking is very convenient, the toilet is large, and the facilities are very new. However, the wifi is almost unavailable. The movie viewing is good. The hotel is only suitable for self-driving people. There is little public transportation nearby.

Gosho-bo is conveniently located right next to an orange souvenir shop, a common stop on the way from Kyoto to Arima. Upon check-in, guests are asked to change into slippers for use throughout the ryokan. The luggage service is excellent; they bring your bags to your room upon arrival and down to the lobby after check-out, saving you the effort of carrying them up or down stairs. Both breakfast and dinner were generous and delicious. The restaurant boasts a charmingly retro atmosphere, with a vintage feel that is impeccably maintained. The public Kinsen (Golden Spring) bath was wonderful. It's a semi-mixed bath, and my skin felt incredibly smooth after soaking. However, a family member who was with me developed mild allergic reactions like peeling skin and red spots.

A heartwarming and thoughtful mountain hotel experience.
This hotel stay completely exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I felt a deep sense of genuine hospitality – there was a dedicated shuttle service directly from the station to the hotel, saving me the hassle of dragging my luggage around.
The next day, I planned to explore the hot spring town at the foot of the mountain. The hotel proactively offered to store my luggage and deliver it to the station at the bottom of the mountain at the agreed time, completely freeing up my hands. The food was surprisingly delicious, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful pairings. The room was clean and comfortable, meticulously cleaned daily, and the common areas were also spotless.
The service throughout was attentive yet unobtrusive. From the shuttle arrangements to the luggage storage, everything was efficient and heartwarming. It's truly perfect for travelers planning a hot spring trip. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit.

I really like this private onsen hotel. It has both indoor and outdoor baths, featuring Arima's famous 'Golden Spring' and 'Silver Spring' waters. You can reserve them for private use, 45 minutes each time, and soak twice a day, morning and evening. I could only book the room through Ctrip, but I emailed the hotel directly to add breakfast and dinner, and the staff were all very enthusiastic and helpful. The hotel is halfway up a mountain, which was no problem since I was driving. They also offer a shuttle service to the station or city center, but you need to book it in advance.

An excellent, authentic ryokan. Friendly staff. Interesting kaiseki breakfasts and dinners. There are two private hot springs in the ocean—access to both is included in the room rate. You can also use the onsen at the nearby partner ryokan. The village of Arima Onsen itself is beautiful! Be sure to visit the park and ride the cable car up Mount Rokko.

The room was slightly different from the pictures, but it didn't affect our stay. The surroundings were truly beautiful, especially the colorful autumn mountain scenery right next to the hotel. The facilities were a bit old but still clean and hygienic. The older staff members were incredibly helpful; when we requested water delivery around 6 AM, it was brought to our room immediately. However, the younger staff seemed to lack a bit. We had luggage and told the front desk that we'd wait in the lobby for about ten minutes before taking the hotel's shuttle to the Hankyu bus station. We saw the shuttle arrive and leave twice, and we didn't have time to go out and stop it. It would have been great if a doorman could have held the car for us. This caused a delay of about 20 minutes. Luckily, we had plenty of time before our scheduled bus departure, otherwise, we would have been very anxious.

GGuest UserLocation was great, right in middle of the beautiful strip. Nice view from window. Very clean and modern, while still maintained a Japanese flair. Showers, toilet, and all appliances new and efficient. The The owners made us feel very welcomed and gave good suggestions to which Onsens and restaurants visit. The breakfast was authentic, healthy, and felt like good home made quality.
