This was my favorite hotel during my Kyushu trip. It's directly connected to Kumamoto Station and Amu Plaza, making it incredibly convenient for getting around, dining, and shopping. The rooms are spacious, and there's even a triangular chapel in the hotel's inner courtyard. During Christmas, there was a Christmas market in the plaza outside on the first floor, creating a very romantic atmosphere. Breakfast was also excellent. Unfortunately, I visited during a three-day holiday in Japan, so the room rates increased significantly, and I could only stay one night. I'll definitely be back next time!
We booked a Japanese-style room in the main building. The room felt quite spacious, functioning as a living room by day and converting into a tatami bedroom at night. Although the bathroom was small, it featured excellent wet/dry separation.
During our stay, even though it was a fully booked weekend, we could always find an available private hot spring bath, choosing between the outdoor rotenburo and indoor options. My absolute favorite was the open-air bath; soaking in it with a gentle breeze was incredibly relaxing, and despite it being summer, I didn't feel overly hot.
A special mention goes to the yukatas provided daily; they were incredibly stylish, and we could choose our preferred design.
We opted for the half-board plan (one night, two meals), and over our three-day stay, the dinners were never repetitive. The main courses—from the Wagyu shabu-shabu on the first day, to the exquisite Kaiseki dinner on the second, and the snow crab shabu-shabu on the third—were all incredibly delicious.
The hotel offers a shuttle service to/from the station and assistance with booking onward travel and tickets, though these services require advance booking.
Highly recommended!
This hotel in Kumamoto offers great value for money, much more affordable than Fukuoka. It's a new hotel located right in Kumamoto city center, making it an excellent choice. We took the Fukuoka Airport bus to the Kumamoto Bus Terminal, and it was less than a 10-minute walk from there. The hotel is also very close to the shopping street, which we walked through several times a day – super convenient for dining and shopping.
**Facilities:**
The building is prominent and easy to find. The lobby offers a variety of tea bags, and toiletries are available for self-service. The in-room facilities are relatively new, convenient, and easy to use.
**Hygiene:**
The room was clean and tidy, and the linens were comfortable.
**Environment:**
The location is superb, just a short walk to the shopping street and the city's central area.
**Service:**
The staff were efficient and friendly.
The breakfast was quite unique, offering various local horse meat options. The taste was decent, nothing extraordinary. I was particularly impressed by the local transparent soy sauce and even bought some to take home.
The hotel is very accessible. It is inside the mall. The bus terminal going to airport is just underneath.
So many restaurants and there is a family mart too.
The hotel is new and as expected is not so spacious but the breakfast is good and staff are really accommodating.
Highly recommended this hotel if you are traveling to Kumamoto. Kumamoto castle is just 15mins walked while Shimotori Shopping Center is just 5-10mins away. We are also very lucky to witness their festival since the parade happened around the area.
The Great Festival of Fujisaki Hachimangu Shrine (or Zuibyo Festival), held every September. Its so fun🥰🥰
Wonderful hotel 🏨 ♥️ 👌
We feel it's a real 5 stars hotel; from the excellent service, the rooms and on to the dinning room, and of course the onsen, everything and everyone were just perfect!
We got a room facing the garden, forest and mountains and it was just great waking up to these views in the mornings.
The experience of food was excellent, both at breakfast and dinner...
The staff here go out if their way to make sure you have what you need, and the onsen was the best one I have seen in Japan so far; it has several hot baths, indoor and outdoor, and dry sauna.
We were extremely happy we booked this place ahead of time as it was fully booked when we arrived and there wasn't even availability to upgrade, even though it wasn't needed as the room was great already.
Thanks for everything 🙏
We booked two rooms for our family of four as each room is rather small. We stayed three nights and enjoyed ourselves. Car park is round the corner so its convenient. Hotel gave us a voucher for discounted parking. The hotel is very central and convenient with a MacDonalds right downstairs.

GGuest UserLovely place, beautiful cabin, great food and impeccable service.
Only thing is that our balcony was next to the road, so the traffic affected the tranquil experience a bit.
Oh, and check out on time, you will get charged an overtime fee if you are (a bit) late!
But all in all a 100% recommendation
MmaggiechshenGreat hotel, one night and two meals.
We chartered a car to Aso Volcano that day, so the driver took us directly to the hotel. The address and location of Ctrip are accurate, just follow it.
Far away from the hot spring street, the cherry blossoms in the mountains are later than other places. When cherry blossoms, peach blossoms, magnolias, azaleas, and winter jasmines all appear in front of you, it feels so satisfying.
The room has a private bath, but the hotel's outdoor bath and the outdoor bath of Shanshuimu (the brother hotel next door) make you not want to take a bath in the room at all.
The food is also good.
GGuest UserWe were kind to you when you contacted me by phone, check-in, check-out and meals.
The food and dinner breakfast were very delicious and satisfying.
thank you for your help. Thank you very much.
I wanted to make a reservation if I could explain the rental hot spring.
AAW7The service staff was very friendly, we received us at the main entrance when we arrived by car, helped with our luggage, led us into the restaurant, and introduced us to various ingredients and cooking methods. The cooking method for dinner is very special, setting up a fire on the sand and barbecuing, the taste is very unique. After the meal, lead us to the room and explain one by one, very professional. The location is relatively remote, but it can be regarded as a feature. The hotel has a public bath, but we didn't go because there is a private bath in the room and the water temperature is very comfortable. Compared with other high-priced brand hotels, the price is really first-class, but the location is really remote.
