It's clean and tidy, and the service is attentive and warm. Plus, I simply love hotels with hot springs. The late-night noodles are a fun touch too."

"After landing in Osaka, I took the Hello Kitty train directly to Kyoto Station. From there, I transferred to the Karasuma Line for two stops and exited from exit 4 (which has an elevator 🛗). Upon exiting, there's a 7-Eleven on the left, and the hotel is just a 2-minute walk further, up a long hallway to the second floor. The service in Kyoto is always excellent. I was able to find a good price before the May Day holiday. I've stayed at Mitsui before, but the location here is even better, with bus stops closer. Kiyomizu-dera, Arashiyama, and Kinkaku-ji are all just one stop away. The breakfast is traditional Kyoto style, light and delicious, and the elderly ladies serving were very polite. The front desk also provides a wide variety of toiletries."

"This recently renovated onsen hotel is highly recommended! The rooms are well-equipped and comfortable, with a traditional Japanese style. The hotel features a public bathhouse and five private onsen, which is a great bonus. They also offer a complimentary drink bar in the afternoon, showing their dedication to excellent service. It's very close to both the subway and bus stations, making it an ideal choice for visiting Arashiyama, especially if you have a lot of luggage. I imagine it'll be quite difficult to book a room during autumn foliage season!"

"Facilities: You have to walk through an alley to find the hotel entrance. Upon entering, you pass by the staff area. The lobby environment, facing a small courtyard, is quite pleasant. However, the quality of the Otowa Hall is mediocre. They claim to offer complimentary soft drinks and snacks, but in reality, there isn't much choice. The coffee machine area was cluttered with used coffee cups, making it look a bit dirty. Service: Hotel check-in time is 3 PM, but I arrived at 2:30 PM after some early shopping. The staff brought out some snacks and even knelt down to meticulously explain the hotel's layout and check-in procedures. Hygiene: I stayed in a Japanese-style room with a tatami mat. Overall, I was quite satisfied with the environment, but the bed sheets had a strong, stale odor. It felt like they weren't changed between guests... even perfume couldn't cover the smell. Overall, I felt this hotel prioritizes formality. The internal quality still has room for improvement!"

"The service was amazing here. Staff could speak English really well, highly recommend for international tourists. The amenities were great and they held fun classes in the lobby. You can rent a refa hair dryer and hair tool from them. They were so helpful with the luggage forwarding. Not many laundry machines. Super good experience without the crazy price tag. It is super close to the nightlife area so be wary of that at night. Although it is not too bad. Many great restaurants nearby and right nearby a lot of good shopping stalls"

"After extensive research on various social media and travel apps, I chose this hotel, and my experience far exceeded expectations – it was truly worth it. The airport/station transfer was convenient, and the front desk staff provided excellent service, making me feel right at home. The room was spacious, and all amenities were exceptionally complete. The hotel's location is also superb; it's quiet at night, and various attractions are within walking distance, just across the street from the luxurious Capella. The public bath was a delightful surprise, much cleaner and more professional than many hot spring resorts in China. A soak before bed truly helped me recover and recharge. Regarding some reviews mentioning preferential treatment towards white guests and ***, I didn't experience any of that, except for one odd instance during breakfast where my half-eaten meal was cleared away prematurely. The breakfast selection was incredibly diverse and plentiful. Overall, a fantastic and worthwhile stay!"

"Extremely satisfied with this hotel. Traveling with elderly parents and children, we landed in Osaka and headed straight to Kyoto, so we chose a hotel within walking distance from the station, making it easy to manage our luggage. It's only a three-minute walk from the train station (you can see it right after exiting and turning right). The room, while not huge, was incredibly cozy and didn't feel cheap like some budget hotels. The staff were very friendly; my partner loves tea and would ask for extra water daily, which they always provided for free. During our stay, we rarely saw other Chinese guests; it was mostly Western and local guests, and breakfast was always quiet. There are tons of restaurants near the hotel (a sushi place within a five-minute walk was super delicious and great value for money). Plus, there's Isetan department store right next to the station for shopping – it couldn't be more convenient! A taxi from the hotel to Kiyomizu-dera Temple cost about 1800 JPY, and to Takashimaya, it was roughly the same price. At 9 PM, you can enter the station and take the escalator to the top for a free panoramic view of Kyoto's nightscape. All in all, I'm very satisfied and would definitely choose to stay here again on my next visit."
