I specifically chose this hotel because of its location. Gulangyu Island is right across the street, so you can enjoy the view and watch the sunset from your room. It's also within walking distance of Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street and a short taxi ride to Nanputuo Temple and the Botanical Garden, which is very convenient. The hotel breakfast was decent. The Chinese restaurant on the third floor is quite good. The housekeeping staff made an effort to fold a small animal out of towels every day and place it in the room, which was a nice touch.

Extremely satisfied! The guesthouse owner personally escorted us to our room and gave us a detailed introduction to the local attractions and dining options, especially how to get to the beach and the best way to walk there. What's most noteworthy is how close the guesthouse is to the sea; you just walk out of the complex, cross the road, and you're there. The beach is beautiful; at sunset, the sea is bathed in a golden glow, even the waves shimmer with gold, and there are many small birds foraging on the sand. Strolling along the beach, chasing the waves 🌊, I was completely enchanted. In the evening, going clamming is an excellent choice, and the guesthouse thoughtfully provides tools and sand toys for kids free of charge. This trip was a bit rushed, so next time, I'll definitely make sure to set aside more time to play!

Had a wonderful stay! The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The atmosphere was peaceful and relaxing, making it a perfect getaway.
What really stood out was the service — the staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. Highly recommended, and I would definitely stay here again!

This hotel is affordable and comes with complete amenities. It's clean, the environment is excellent, quiet, and the service is exceptionally warm. Here are a few highlights from our family stay:
Coming out of Yangzhou Station, take bus Y1 to the Slender West Lake West Gate stop. Get off and walk straight for about 50 meters, and you're there. The hotel's main entrance is right next to McDonald's, and the back exit leads directly to the Slender West Lake West Gate entrance. For those traveling with children, seniors, or people who easily get lost, you can't get any closer – this point definitely gets a perfect score.
Taking a taxi or Didi to Geyuan Garden, Heyuan Garden, or Yangzhou East Station costs between 10 and 20 yuan, which is incredibly budget-friendly. Yangzhou's morning tea culture and food scene are fantastic. Taking a taxi from the hotel, there are various local eateries a few kilometers away in different directions. You can check out popular restaurants on Dianping for authentic Huaiyang cuisine – the taste is simply amazing. In short, if you're planning a self-guided tour, staying here is incredibly convenient and excellent. Thumbs up!

I visited Xiamen 11 years ago and was immediately drawn to this building, it had a 'old money' vibe! This time, I finally got to stay there!!!
**Check-in:** The front desk staff were decent and professional, but the concierge, not so much. They lacked attentiveness; at least no one came to help me with my luggage when I got out of the car.
**Room Facilities:** It's a mix of 5-star and 4.5-star. The TV supports screen mirroring, the AC is powerful, the toilet is automatic, and there's a capsule coffee machine – basically, it has everything you'd expect. I'm deducting 0.5 points because the slippers weren't comfortable!!!
**Value for Money:** I'd give it 4 stars. I booked the 1958 Nanyang Style Queen Sea-view Room early for just over 800 RMB. I got a free upgrade, and then upgraded one more level upon arrival for an extra 150 RMB per night, ending up in a Gulangyu Sea-view Room! Given that it faced Gulangyu, it was pretty good!
**Breakfast:** Didn't try it, because it was expensive!
**Wifi:** Pretty mediocre. Once I mirrored to the TV, I couldn't stream videos anymore...
**Bed:** The mattress was a bit soft for my liking. The duvet was quite thick, perfect with the AC on! The pillows were great, with both high and memory foam options!!! The rug on the floor was a bit redundant and easy to trip over!
**Restaurant:** The restaurant on the 7th floor had decent food, but the service was disappointing.
**Cleanliness:** On the surface, it looked good, but if you looked closer, it wasn't great. The windows weren't opened, neither were the doors, and there was dust on the bedside table...
**Bathroom:** The toilet was automatic, and the shower stall had excellent sealing. However, the water from the bathtub faucet was yellow... Do the housekeepers not clean the bathtub? Also, the hotel amenities are JO BY JO LOVES, but housekeeping wasn't timely enough in replenishing them!
**Service:** Generally very good, they were obliging and polite. However, attention to detail is needed, especially with replenishing toiletries!!!
**Room View:** The hotel is located in the heart of Xiamen, directly opposite Gulangyu. Turn left out of the hotel for Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, turn right and cross the road for the ferry terminal to Gulangyu. The Bashi Market is less than a kilometer away!!
**Parking:** I didn't drive, but I passed by the parking lot and noticed it was surprisingly small...
**Room View (repeated for emphasis):** Directly facing Gulangyu, I even caught the 'salted egg yolk' sunset!!!
**Afternoon Tea:** It was complimentary upon check-in, but I honestly don't recommend it! It was terrible! The salmon sandwiches were left at room temperature and could easily spoil... The ice bucket was full of water and hadn't been refilled... Well, it was a complimentary voucher, so I just gave it a try...
To sum up, the hotel's facilities, location, and service meet 5-star hotel standards!!!! It's worth experiencing if you're visiting Xiamen!

This hotel's location is absolutely unbeatable! It's right next to bus stops and a subway station, with direct subway access to the Shaanxi History Museum. Super convenient for tourists. The lobby has a stylish, vintage vibe and even thoughtfully provides a printer and computer, so you don't have to worry about urgent work tasks. The laundry room and gym are conveniently located near the guest rooms, accessible anytime, making things super easy and hassle-free. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, giving me great peace of mind. What really stood out was the front desk service – always greeted with a warm smile and attentive, making you feel right at home. My stay was incredibly pleasant, whether for leisure or business, I'd highly recommend it without hesitation. Definitely no regrets!

Excellent transit stay near Fuzhou Changle Airport! The apartment is spacious, clean, and offers a lovely sea view. The owner provides free airport pickup/drop-off and was very friendly – he even dropped us at Wanshou subway when available (ask in advance). Located just a 5-minute walk from a beach, with a few small restaurants and a mini-mart nearby, perfect for breakfast. Highly convenient for an overnight airport stop.”

A very satisfying stay! The lobby is spacious and bright, and they even show cartoons for kids. The hotel's cheese service was very thoughtful, and the staff were incredibly friendly. Parking is free, and they kindly offered a late check-out for my room. The facilities are comprehensive, and the bed is very comfortable. They also offer a free airport shuttle service, making it super convenient for travel. Highly recommend!
They provided tools for digging in the sand at the beach, which the kids loved, and breakfast was excellent.
Although I didn't use the swimming pool, the shallowest part is 0.9m, so it's suitable for children.

The hotel's location is fantastic, very close to attractions like Zhongshan Road, Gulangyu Island Ferry Terminal, Putuo Temple, and Xiamen University. The hotel even upgraded me to a sea-view room, and I could see the beautiful night view of Gulangyu Island.

GGuest UserThis veteran five-star hotel boasts an unbeatable location. Right outside, you'll find Zhenhai Road Metro Station, making it incredibly convenient to get anywhere. Zhongshan Road is just a short walk away, perfect for enjoying food and drinks. There's also a bus stop right at the entrance, so you can reach Xiamen University and Shapowei with hardly any transfers. The cleanliness and bedding are excellent. It's truly a hotel at a transportation hub.

It's also within walking distance of Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street and a short taxi ride to Nanputuo Temple and the Botanical Garden, which is very convenient. The hotel breakfast was decent. AAnonymous UserService: I arrived at the hotel early, around 12 PM, for check-in. The front desk staff thoughtfully found a room that was immediately available, which was incredibly considerate.
Housekeeping/Butler: Esther from Conrad Xiamen deserves a five-star rating! She was not only warm and attentive but also provided excellent travel recommendations and room service, among other things. She made our 4-day trip to Xiamen an unforgettable experience. Thank you!
Facilities: Although there was a rare water shut-off due to construction, it didn't actually cause any inconvenience. Some buttons in the room (for curtains, bathroom lights) had poor contact, but it was acceptable.
2203803****The Bayview B&B was definitely the highlight of this trip. The warm welcome from the front desk staff and the owner made me feel right at home, completely erasing any sense of unfamiliarity. The room was even more spacious than it appeared in the photos, with excellent natural light. The balcony view was an added bonus; sitting there in the evening, enjoying the breeze, was incredibly relaxing. Breakfast was a delightful surprise – fresh ingredients and beautifully presented, really showing the owner's thoughtfulness. It's incredibly good value for money, and I genuinely recommend it to everyone! A special shout-out to the kind and attentive housekeeper, who provided such thoughtful service that it almost made me feel bad. Unforgettable! I'll definitely be back next year.
GGuest UserI love IHG hotels and would usually choose to stay with them around the world if possible. And choose to stay at intercontinental Xiamen( in a CBD area) even though the location is far from tourist area I didn’t mind traveling a bit but I don’t think I would choose to stay here again. As the hotel didn’t feel up to standard for ihg group . There was a lot of wear and tear on the wall and the washroom. The cleanness of the rooms was not up to standard I found hair and dust / particles in the washroom table. They cleaned it up right after telling front desk but received a call saying it was the marble cracked which was clearly excuse . After returning the little dust particles were still there. Bathtub was definitely not scrubbed down . Felt a layer of residue or something when touched . Lots of dirt or dust or wall chipping or whatever particle it was on the corner of washroom table. And dusts in the corners . The breakfast was very Mediocre for ihg . Even though there was a variety of selections the taste was not there. Cooked food look like it sat there for awhile. The noodle bar was good tho with choice satay or clear soup and the freshly cooked wonton was tasty. I didn’t like how some things weren’t filled up just because it was 15min to closing. I do like how they provide kids with sand bucket tools to play at the beach . Overall it was still a pretty pleasant stay but I would not choose this ihg branch next time .

MMIssOur overall experience at the hotel was fantastic. The French chateau-style environment is absolutely stunning and creates a wonderful ambiance. The hotel is right by the sea, making evening strolls and enjoying the breeze incredibly relaxing and perfect for unwinding. Our room was spacious and comfortable, never feeling cramped, and offered excellent ocean views. The dining options were extensive, and the food quality was very good. This place is generally quiet and pleasant, a welcome escape from the city bustle. It was the perfect choice for our last night in Xiamen, allowing us to rest well and end our trip in a relaxed and comfortable way. It's truly an ideal spot for a vacation.
JJogger91Okay, but much better options exist if you have the money and book in advance.
First of all, its a separate class of hotel situated within the very same Marriot (which is higher end), so consider this a class below the actual Marriot. The exit is separate, and leads mostly to nowhere, and you will most likely enter the real Marriot part of the building at first, but thankfully staff knows this is a common mistake and leads you through a small hallway of about 200m to the other reception where you will be greeted by just as professional staff.
They don't include any toiletries but will deliver them swiftly to the room door if you need any, I guess its ecological, in their mind, but practically..ultimately pointless and saves no one's time and energy.
The room itself is a bit of a step down from regular 4* chain hotels - the size, the leather on the furniture is torn and worn a bit, and it shows its age and class. There are similarly priced competitors within the same 1-2km range, who do a much better job, plus better view, for a few bucks more. It should be priced a bit lower in order to be a good deal and vibe for the money. Ultimately an okay hotel, no one will be disappointed, but the value to me just isn't there, and the real Marriot is in the same building, but you are getting the cheaper version of it, watered down.
AAnonymous UserThis is my second stay here, and I absolutely love the new Chinese-style room. It's spacious, and the soundproofing is quite good, ensuring a great night's sleep! The front desk staff upgraded me to an executive sea-view room, and the view was fantastic!
Harlan from the lounge was incredibly helpful. I had an urgent video meeting, but my room wasn't ready yet. Harlan kindly opened the lounge for me in advance, allowing me to finish my meeting smoothly! When the room was ready, they even handed me the key card directly in the lounge and thoughtfully helped me with my luggage to the room. I'm very grateful! The lounge's afternoon tea is excellent, and the view is expansive. I didn't get to try the evening happy hour, but I'll definitely experience it next time.
Overall, both the environment and the service are excellent!
GGuobao^_^Overall, it was pretty good. The hotel's location is super convenient for getting around. The pier is about 500 meters from the entrance, and it's just a fifteen-minute boat ride to Xiamen No. 1 Pier, making it easy to go anywhere. A concierge even proactively helped us with directions to the pier; he was really enthusiastic 👍. The ferry ticket to Gulangyu Island was only 35 RMB, and the hotel breakfast was decent too.
Regarding the upgrade to a deluxe sea-view room (subject to availability on the day): I booked a superior sea-view room, and the front desk upgraded us to a deluxe sea-view family room.
For the mini-bar, you need to proactively contact the front desk for refills.
Also, for the cute little souvenir doll included in the package, you need to ask the front desk for it.
It's a really adorable doll 🥰
WwoodenyhbThe hotel is super close to the metro and bus station, about 100 meters away, and right next to Huandao Road, so the air is fresh and clean. The breakfast is amazing, with different options every day. The room service staff are excellent; they kept our room spotless and even brought in a drying rack, which was incredibly convenient. Overall, it's a fantastic place, especially for older travelers. It's very quiet at night, and the shower pressure is great. I highly recommend staying here!
