Honestly, during the off-season, for a room type like this at just over 150 (CNY), staying on the 60th floor is incredibly good value for money. The room itself is quite spacious. I actually booked this place after reading a review, and honestly, I think it's perfectly fine. I dislike situations where customers are clearly in the wrong or leave bad reviews unfairly, and then the boss blames and scolds the staff. I don't like that. So, sometimes when guests are being unreasonable or trying to take advantage, whether it's a staff member or the owner responding, I think it's perfectly acceptable. A spade is a spade.

I'd been looking forward to staying at the Lujiang Hotel for a long time. Back in 2019, when I traveled to Xiamen, I already had my eye on this prime location. Unfortunately, the hotel was undergoing renovations then, so I couldn't make it happen. This time, I brought my mom for the Dragon Boat Festival and booked three nights here without hesitation. The entire stay was pleasant and perfect.
We stayed in a premium sea-view balcony king room. The room offered an unparalleled view directly overlooking the endless ocean. The amenities were brand new and tastefully designed, with a perfect blend of retro charm: from the floor indicator in the elevator on the first floor to the antique telephone on the sixth floor that was actually functional, every detail was thoughtfully considered. Every evening, they offered a different comforting complimentary soup, which they could even reheat if it got a bit cool. The welcome fruit platter was abundant, and these details were especially heartwarming. The hotel also gifted us a Qipao photoshoot at Zhuyanjji, and with the hotel's scenic backdrop, the atmosphere was incredible, resulting in a series of stunning vintage-style photos – an unexpected and delightful surprise.
The breakfast package quality far exceeded our expectations. The breakfast spread was extensive, and dining on the terrace while enjoying the views and delicious food was wonderful. Minnan specialties like Shacha noodles, Wu Xiang (five-spice rolls), and Xianyuzhao (savory taro dates) were all available. The dishes were updated regularly, so we didn't get tired of them over our three-day stay.
What truly impressed me was the service. The front desk staff was well-organized; even during busy periods, someone was immediately available to assist. Housekeeping was meticulous and thorough. When I got mosquito bites, the front desk provided cooling balm. The doormen proactively opened doors and helped with luggage, all with warmth and decorum, reflecting the calm and thoughtful service of a well-established hotel.
My mom and I had a wonderfully relaxing holiday. The Lujiang Hotel certainly lived up to its reputation. This trip was perfect, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Xiamen!

We had a lovely stay, the room’s view was great, bed very comfortable, nice cotton good quality lienen, flexible room service time, water/towels etc always topped up/ refilled. Free luggage storage possible. All really smooth and pleasant.
Keep in mind that if you choose smart room- need to say the commands to open the curtains in Chinese. I speak some Chinese and it made the check-in and stay easier, however the person who showed us the room wasn’t very friendly.

Had a terrible experience. The comforter was damp. Aside from the sea view, it was worse than staying at an Atour. The most frustrating thing was the long wait to check out. When I asked the front desk, I was actually scolded! I reflected on it afterwards:
1. I wasn't feeling well and my reactions were slow.
2. If a five-star hotel can't shake off its 'Kong Yiji' (pretentious and outdated) attitude, it should at least maintain its facilities, even if the price is a bit higher.
3. Maybe I haven't stayed at hotels requiring a deposit much in recent years.

This is genuinely the first time I've actively and wholeheartedly given a positive review. The hotel environment is absolutely fantastic, perfect for families with kids – they'll be entertained from morning till night. The hotel also offered so many perks that we couldn't even use them all. Plus, the hotel has a grand layout, which really sets it apart from other family-friendly hotels.
The hotel upgraded our room to a waterside room in the main building. This is the first hotel I've ever encountered where you can pack up your buffet breakfast to go! It was incredibly convenient! One morning, the main building restaurant was full with a long queue, so I asked the butler if we could go to the Shuiyuan Restaurant instead. They agreed without hesitation and even arranged for a late check-out. Oh, and adult socks for the kids' club are provided for free! Many other family hotels charge 5 yuan per pair! This really shows their superior approach!
We didn't have time to use the complimentary afternoon tea on the day it was offered, but they kindly extended it for us multiple times! Every detail, every request we had, was immediately addressed! They also provided swimming rings and sand toys. In short, with all these thoughtful details, the hotel truly has a big heart and a grand vision! My expectations for family hotels have definitely been raised!
Now, for a couple of very minor personal suggestions that I think could be improved: The hotel is very large and primarily caters to families, so the kids' club could be even bigger, perhaps 1500 sq m, 2000 sq m, or even larger, aiming to be the largest kids' club among family hotels in China. I noticed that kids especially love the trampoline, but there's only one, which can lead to older kids without family supervision competing with younger children for it. Other than that, I have no more suggestions; the hotel has done an outstanding job.

Highly recommend the Niaodao Seaview Chaosu! The location is superb, right next to Zhongshan Road and the ferry terminal, within walking distance to major attractions, making it super convenient to get to Gulangyu Island. We booked a sea-view room and the view was absolutely breathtaking, with 180° floor-to-ceiling windows directly facing Gulangyu Island, offering stunning sunrise and sunset views. The room was clean and tidy, well-equipped with smart controls, a smart toilet, a Dyson hairdryer, and more, all with a great sense of design. The owner and staff were warm, friendly, and provided thoughtful service, including free laundry and luggage storage. The overall experience was perfect, and I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit Xiamen!

Environment: The apartment is very close to the airport, just a few minutes' drive away. Taxis are also very convenient, and there's a shopping mall nearby, so food and drinks are easily accessible.
Service: The service was excellent, and the airport pick-up service was great; just contact the owner in advance. They also responded promptly to any issues.
The room was very spacious and offered great value for money.

I was looking forward to this hotel after seeing the pictures and reviews on trip.com, but it left a lot to be desired.
-They don’t provide large towels by default. I assumed they forgot my towels, then when I asked they brought me a set but showed me the disposable ones that were sitting in the room. I couldn’t believe they offer the tiniest, thinnest packets and think that’s an acceptable replacement for normal towels. At this price point, that shouldn’t be a reality anywhere in the world— after countless dozens of hotels I’ve stayed at in China that’s the first time I’ve witnessed such a thing.
-They leave the toilet scrubber in the bathroom too, which I also never saw after countless hotels in China; clearly that’s an antiquated practice and doesn’t inspire confidence in the cleanliness of a room. Cleaning tools like that shouldn’t be stored in the guest rooms.
-The city view was okay but the window was filthy
-The room is no-smoking but they leave an ash tray
My booked room says the 20th floor— when I arrived, I lugged my heavy bags to the 20th floor, but they immediately redirected me; we went back down, exited the building to another one nearby, then they checked me into an old room on a 10th floor. I didn’t understand why they did this (that room reeked of smoke too), then we packed everything up and went right back to the original building, to the 20th floor like I booked. Clearly that could have been avoided if they communicated to me the reason for the switch (they said afterwards they were upgrading me to a bigger room? But it was nearly the same size and the 10th floor one was just older, smellier and clearly a downgrade. Odd decision on their part). I’m not sure if this hotel does the delivery robot like most others, I doubt it.
Luckily I came to town a day early, so the extra day I booked allowed me to see the condition of the hotel and I was able to cancel the rest of the stay I had booked— but for a fee of over 500rmb. The vast majority of Chinese hotels on this site offer free cancellations but this one was costly. I switched immediately to a brand hotel to be safe— there are countless other options in Xiamen at similar prices, I’d have to recommend looking elsewhere.
Our experience was fantastic! As soon as we drove up, a bellhop jogged over to open the door, immediately helped with our luggage, and directed us to parking. When checking in, the front desk agent, Sophia, noticed I had a child and proactively upgraded our room and brought over kids' toiletries. After checking out, I realized I'd forgotten a book, and when I called, they found it right away. Their perfectly balanced enthusiasm made us feel incredibly welcome.
The bedding was high-thread-count and super comfortable, making for a very refreshing sleep. The double vanity, separate walk-in closet, and extra-large bathtub all exuded comfort. As for breakfast, it was incredibly rich and varied; everything you could want was there. We had a great time eating with the kids.

IIain13This is a duplicate of my review for dates from 6 to 8 June 2026, as I extended my stay for one night.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would happily stay here again.
The location is excellent. It's right next to the metro, directly across the road from China City Mall, and within easy walking distance of Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street, the waterfront and the ferry wharf. It made exploring Xiamen incredibly easy.
The staff were consistently helpful and efficient. They obtained information about the Xiamen-Kinmen ferry, which was greatly appreciated. The breakfast restaurant staff deserve special mention as they were always friendly, welcoming and genuinely seemed pleased to see their guests each morning.
The room itself was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable, the bathroom was excellent and while I didn't use the bath, the shower was very good. The hotel also has a nice swimming pool, gym and lounge area, all of which added to the overall experience.
Breakfast was good, with plenty of choices, both Asian and Western, and a pleasant atmosphere.
I only intended to stay a short time, but enjoyed both the hotel and Xiamen enough that I extended my stay by an extra night. From my room I had good views, including Zheng Chenggong's statue on Gulangyu Island and Xiamen's Twin Towers in the distance.
This hotel certainly helped make my stay in Xiamen an enjoyable one. I left with very positive memories and would gladly stay here again.
GGuest UserThe room offered a fantastic view, which was truly pleasant. It was well-equipped, spacious, clean, and quiet, making for a very comfortable stay. Both the Chinese and Western restaurants provided excellent service and delicious food. The buffet restaurant also had a great variety of dishes and good service. The hotel's location is excellent, being very close and convenient to attractions like Nanputuo Temple and Xiamen University. A special thanks to our housekeeper Isabella for her attentive and thoughtful service throughout our stay.
GGuest UserThe hotel's location is fantastic, making it super convenient to get around. Zhongshan Road, the ferry terminal, and the Eighth Market are all right next to the hotel, just a three-minute walk away. Our room was spotless, very spacious, and had no strange odors. The bedding was also wonderfully soft and comfortable. Excellent stay overall!

GGuest UserFive out of five stars, I highly recommend Gulangyu Bayview Hotel! The location is absolutely perfect – it's just a few minutes' walk along the coast from the Sanchietian Pier, so you don't have to drag your luggage up hills. Plus, the hotel staff meet you upon arrival, which saves a lot of effort and worry. Just a few steps outside, and you're on Longtou Road Snack Street, making exploring and eating incredibly convenient. It’s lively yet quiet, and not noisy at all.
The century-old banyan tree in front of the hotel stands as a witness to the passage of time.
The room was clean, dry, and free of dampness. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and the smart toilet was a nice touch. The bedding was soft, ensuring a very restful sleep.
The front desk service was gentle and attentive. They patiently recommended lesser-known spots and authentic local snacks on the island. Luggage storage and travel guidance were all perfectly arranged.
This trip to Gulangyu was exceptionally comfortable. The sea view, environment, service, and location were all top-notch. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time, and I strongly recommend it to any friends visiting Gulangyu to stay for a few nights!
GGuest UserI had an excellent stay at InterContinental Xiamen by IHG. The location is perfect, the buffet food is delicious, and the overall service quality is outstanding.
I especially want to thank Jason, Henry, Suzy, as well as the Manager on Duty, for their exceptional support and kindness throughout my stay. They were always very attentive, answered all of my questions, and went above and beyond to help me during an issue with delayed luggage. My luggage was delayed for one day, and my colleague’s luggage for two days, and the staff was always available and proactive in helping us coordinate with the airline and recover our bags.
Their professionalism, warmth, and willingness to help made a very stressful situation much easier. I’m truly very grateful for all their support. Highly recommended hotel for both business and leisure travelers.

AAnonymous UserTraveling with my child, I found the lobby grand and the room clean and hygienic. The disposable slippers and toiletries were great, and they even provided children's lotion, which was a thoughtful touch. The kids' club was also quite clean; although not very large, it was perfect for an hour of fun to let the kids burn off some energy.
What impressed me most was the Le Wei restaurant. The buffet allows one child under 120cm to dine for free, which is very practical and considerate.
The hotel is right next to the Rainbow Boardwalk and the beach, and the beachfront restaurant even has live music, creating a wonderful atmosphere.
Overall, it's an excellent family-friendly hotel. My child had a fantastic experience and said they want to come back again.
LLvjieThe hotel boasts an excellent location with expansive sea views, and the floor-to-ceiling windows in the sea-view rooms offer breathtaking scenery. The rooms are clean and tidy, with comfortable bedding and complete bathroom facilities. The service is warm and attentive, with prompt front desk responses. Breakfast is rich and features local Fujian (Min-nan) specialties. The accompanying pool and gym facilities are comprehensive, offering great value for money. The surrounding area is quiet, and transportation is convenient, making it suitable for both leisure and business stays. Overall, the experience was satisfying and highly recommended.

GGuobao^_^Overall, it was pretty good. The hotel's location is super convenient for getting around. The pier is about 500 meters from the entrance, and it's just a fifteen-minute boat ride to Xiamen No. 1 Pier, making it easy to go anywhere. A concierge even proactively helped us with directions to the pier; he was really enthusiastic 👍. The ferry ticket to Gulangyu Island was only 35 RMB, and the hotel breakfast was decent too.
Regarding the upgrade to a deluxe sea-view room (subject to availability on the day): I booked a superior sea-view room, and the front desk upgraded us to a deluxe sea-view family room.
For the mini-bar, you need to proactively contact the front desk for refills.
Also, for the cute little souvenir doll included in the package, you need to ask the front desk for it.
It's a really adorable doll 🥰
